Fast Facts for the Hospice Nurse, Second Edition: A Concise Guide to End-of-Life Care

As a new hospice nurse this book has helped me out so much so far. When I’m needing a quick check or fact, I can usually find my answer. I keep it in my bag with me during visits if I need some reassurance. Super easy to read and understand, small size is perfect for traveling around and storing, super informational material that’s up to date and factual.

I am a hospice nurse and thought this was a good read.

I have been in hospice for several months and I hoped there would be a bit more about the symptoms/management of specific disease processes, but this is definitely geared toward those new to hospice care. I felt that the symptoms could have been expanded on, but it does have a section about symptoms management- it’s just pretty surface level, again, great for those new to the field!! Lots of helpful info about meds though that I did find helpful!!TLDR: great if you are just starting hospice nursing, not so much if you’re already a hospice nurse looking to learn more.

This book clearly and concisely presents information a hospice nurse needs to know, from the very basics to Medicare facts. The font is a little small, but the info is great.

It includes everything a hospice overview needs to, while still being concise. Absolutely love it and will keep on hand for reference out in the field. Strongly recommend getting this book!!

I can’t review content since I’ve only recently started reading, but please be advised the print and book are small. Exhibits, tables and graphs are even harder to see than body text. Some are so small you need a magnifying glass to view. While the information may be useful, it’s difficult to see. Formatting gets a big thumbs down. I would look for larger version if available or different book entirely.

This book is very informative for a new hospice nurse! I wish it had more case management material (as a lot of hospice nurses are also case managers) but overall it's well written and I have learned a lot from it!
