Lovely for the holidays
I love this product. We currently have 8 outdoor lights under eaves of roof overhang. These lights pretty much run the gamut of potential colors with perfect radiance across the spectrum. The app is easy to use and connectivity has been mostly flawless for the first year in use. The app has savable light setups which I use. One, for example, is a blood red set up labeled Halloween. Great product!

Almost impossible to remove - but still buying them.
Philip Hue lights are by far the best interconnected smart lights available - the app is excellent and the Hue bridge allows you to program them in all sorts of different ways.That being said, these 4" downlights are almost impossible to remove. Once they're in the recessed can, they are not going to come out without damaging _something_.Because they're damp location rated, I've installed them on the outside of my house in a rain-shielded overhang. We'll see how they hold up to the temps this winter. But for now, they look amazing!

Note that these have a VERY different mounting system than is pictured on the product image.The ones pictured should be able to mount into a much smaller ceiling thickness (like I have), but the actual product is basically impossible to install in your ceiling directly unless you already have 6in deep ceiling cans.If you already have deep cans in your ceiling, you're probably better off just getting a normal hue bulb and a can cover.It turns out my house is fitted with low-profile LED recessed fixtures which are flexible and canless. So unless I actually wire in recessed cans (not possible in some areas of my house) these are useless.The lights themselves are gorgeous, but look at the many other reviews talking about how awful the mounting system is - worst of all its misleading that they dont match the picture.Also check your ceiling first to see if cans are an option, but if you don't have them it's a major DIY project either way.
