Worked great. Peel back the adhesive liner like so undo the window rail from the inside of the door and top rail as well 10mm. Push it aside while you slip the unit through the small hole towards the bottom. This is the only way to remove and install easily. Be careful with the lock mechanism yours might be broken like mine and you might need a new one from AliExpress or here.

Fit. Good for after market value for money

Time will tell but this door lock seems to be a good value and direct replacement for the door lock on my wife's 2008 328i Sport Sedan. The product was delivered next day and installed the next day after.I rated the install 1 star though the product is not to blame. It's just hard to get the darn old one out and the new one in.I have some hints as to how to install the lock. I didn't find these in the numerous videos on the subject that I found on YouTube so I thought to share. If you watch a video you'll learn how to remove the door panel. In those they don't tell you that the screws (torx) are of the "security" type (you need the security screwdriver to remove them). Once the door panel is loose you will need to detach ALL of the wires and door handle. I thought I could get away with leaving the wires attached but the rest of the work is quite complicated and the panel had to be fully disconnected and put to the side for sanity's sake.With the door panel off you'll want to remove the soundproofing. Again I thought I could just peel back a bit more than half of it but in the end I found I needed to take it all off. One of the videos mentioned using a razor to cut the glue and they got that spot on.At this point you're ready to remove the lock. After removing the three (non-security) torx screws and detaching the exterior door put AND removing the cylinder lock the part will be loose. A note about the cylinder lock. Take your time getting it out. If you do then the small door handle lamp and exterior door pull will stay in place for later when you go to reassemble everything. If not (like me) just getting the small lamp back in place will take a relatively enormous amount of time and patience.By the way the screw holding the cylinder on my wife's car wasn't torx (it was hex).OK ... so the old lock needs to come out. Hmmmm. There isn't a lot of "wiggle room". I found that you need to loosen the window bracket near the lock (top and bottom) and push the bottom of that bracket in (towards the door (not towards the hinges) while pulling the lock out of place. Before you do all the pulling you'll need to disconnect the wires that are MOUNTED ON (not connected to) the lock. Patience again is a virtue. Once the old lock is out you need to transfer the nylon bushing from the old lock to the new one. Do that BEFORE putting the new lock into place. The new lock goes in like the old one came out (push that window bracket just enough out of the way for clearance).Once the lock is in place you'll need to attach the exterior door pull cable. I found it easier to depress the interior door pull to get the exterior cable lines up correctly. I used vide grips to keep the latch "open" during the process.put everything else back in place (don't forget to somehow "mount" the cables you detached from the old lock) and you should be all set. When attaching the door panel you may need to replace some nylon connectors. I bought hose here on Amazon. I found that mounting the panel starting at the top standing on the outside of the door with the window open so as to line up the top backets made it less "hit or miss".As I said, so far, the lock is working just fine. I am pleased with the product and delivery. Hope this helps.

I bought this for a 2013 335xi. It works great. Doesn't feel any different from the original. Install was pretty straight forward.(although I've had practice as I've only had BMW's for the past 12 years) As for how long it will last, we will have to wait and see. I would recommend purchasing the warranty for 3 years for $5 bucks. If it goes out in that time frame then I'll get a new one for free if not then I wouldn't be mad for the money spent on it. I've purchased the OEM ones and they also end up going bad. Not worth the extra 1$00 dollars in my opinion.

The install was pretty easy after watching a few Youtube videos but be careful. So many BMW's use this same part but they are all a little different when it comes to tearing them apart. I ended up breaking another part (the key lock lever) after I put in this part because it wasn't exactly the same as the model I watched the video of. I guess I can understand why they don't send any directions with the part now. But even after replacing both parts now I am still saving a ton of money over buying the OEM part or taking it to a mechanic to fix.

It works and fits well. I helped my husband put it in the door and after 45 minutes it was done.
