Great photo cards
These are great Photo Cards. I bought it last year to make Christmas Cards and have used it since. It comes with a CD with templates to make photo cards for all different occasions and you can even add clip art onto it. I use this for all of our cards now and put pictures of the kids. I couldn't find them in Office Max anymore so I ordered them at Amazon. And they do work with my HP printer.**11/21/14 Update I still love these photo paper cards. But when I had to buy a new printer I got a HP Photosmart 7510 and it did not have the custom page size option so that I can input 4x8 like my last HP. So I now pick index card 5x8 and other photo papers and it works. The other reviewers are correct it does print with a white border. But it is even and not so big so it looks ok. However I have noticed some of the templates that you pick have a larger white border so I stay away from those ones. I use the art studio section and I copy and paste the frames from their existing collection and then use the shapes and clip art to finish up the background. For the clip art it lets you browse the files on your computer in order to pick it. I wish the would update the software cd included with some new stuff.

Saves you money!
I bought these for the first time this past year to do my own photo greeting cards for Christmas and they work great. The quality of the photo paper is excellent and the colors came out vibrant and true. The only slight problem I had with them was getting the prints to come out in correct size, proportion and location on my cards. That's not the photo cards problem though...more of an issue with either my printer (HP PSC 2110) or my software I believe. I just had to experiment a little and found it was better to try printing on a piece of plain paper first before using the photo paper and wasting one. I have a HP computer and HP provides a large selection of templates to choose from for producing professional looking photo greeting cards at a fraction of the price.

Not worth it
No matter what I tried I could not get any of my printers to properly recognize these cards. I tried several HP, Epsom and Canon printers, read many blogs (many people experienced the same issues), called my work IT guy, all to no avail. Also, the software is terrible. Save time and money and have your local store make cards for you - that's what I had to do and it worked out great and was cheaper in the end. I'll end up trimming the cards to 4x6 so my dedicated photo printer will recognize them and this purchase won't be a complete loss.

Hallmark program not well designed
On my computer and printer the actual card left far too much white space around the edges which I thought unattractive. Switching to borderless printing had no effect. The clip art was only OK. The frames for pictures were far too glitzy for my taste. I ended up using Corel PaintShop Pro to design and print the cards. The blank card stock is fine.

Paper quality good, printer settings not so good
Unfortuantely, HP doesn't seem to make 4x8 photo paper anymore and that's a shame because this paper isn't all that compatible with my HP Photosmart printer, or should I say the program that comes with it isn't all that compatible despite reports that it is compatible. It does OK at best with the Hallmark program, but the pictures don't fit on the paper very nicely and don't look as professional as the HP paper and program. My printer also rejects some of the cards from the Hallmark program stating that the paper's too small. It's a shame because the Hallmark program has many very nice templates that I unfortuantely can't really use, so I go to my HP Design Studio program that came with their 4x8 paper and use those templates. In the end I'm able to make good looking cards by using the Hallmark paper with the HP program, but don't have the variety of templates I had hoped to have. Still better than nothing...On the upside, the paper quality is good and images look sharp. If you've got a printer that seems truly compatible with this program then you've got yourself a great custom card making set up.It is my opinion that this is a good way to make photo cards if you're doing a single personalized birthday card, thank you card or get well card - it gives a nice personal flair that always seems to go over well. When it comes to holiday cards though, it is FAR, FAR cheaper to have a store/online photo store do these in bulk. It would take forever to do these on your own and would chew up massive amounts of ink, rendering it highly cost ineffective.

Photo Cards, Great product
I looked all over for this product, and finally found it here at Amazon. I had bought the 5x8 cards from HP before then they discontinued them. These cards are very easy to use. The included software from Hallmark was a nice benefit, though I prefer to design my own in Photoshop. All in all these cards and envelopes are great, easy print out, and fairly fast drying time. Great price also. I would recomend these to every one.Thank you Amazon, for a great deal and fast shipping.Wendy Rae

3 rd year using these
I love this set. Once again the cards I made are better than any Christmas card we received and most all those were professionally done. As long as you like the glossy look the paper on these works great and the colors using my Canon printer pop. The cards are actually thicker than several professionally done card we receive from relatives. The software is old and outdated, but the paper alone is worth the cost. This year I used the outdated software that come included woth the box set and it worked with Windows 8 64 bit. It is not the best software so if you are buying for that forget it, but it is useable.
