Ugly yarn - makes a beautiful hat
When I got the yarn it looked strange - really pretty reds and purple but with theses areas that look almost black. Looked like a mistake. But when I knit up the hat it turned out beautiful. The colors in stitches showed the true beauty of the yarn. The yarn is easy to work with and is soft and warm. This is my 1st knit project. The hat is 20" around and about 11" tall worked with US15/10mm circular needles. I had enough left for a pom pom but haven't made that yet. The vendor is wonderful, good communication and quick service.

Malabrigo Stitch Red colorway
When I first opened this yarn, I intensely disliked the color of the Malabrigo Rasta Stitch Red. It looked dirty, like it used to be red but was drug through a used oil dump! It was expensive too—over $25 for the skein—and it wasn’t even close to it’s picture. I decided I didn’t want the added expense of sending it back so I went ahead and worked it up in a hat. The FO didn’t get much better IMHO, but my husband liked the color. So my advice: IF you decide to purchase this yarn be aware that it may work best for a man’s garment or gift. I can’t think of any woman that would wear this as it looks like it needs a good wash!

Best super bulky hand dyed wool
Love malabrigo and this is my first time using Rasta. So soft and always a lovely color selection... That is the most difficult thing, selecting them. This is one of my favorite hand dyed yarns. Always soft and smooth, no knots or imperfections. Making a hat with super bulky Rasta and it knits up quickly.

Great for a quick project
I was pretty sure I was going to hate this based on how the yarn looked after I wound it into a ball, but it is turning out surprisingly cute when knit. The yarn itself is so soft and plush. One skein could easily be made into a hat in a day. I used size 13 circular needles.

Yummy yarn inspires
This is a beautiful yarn that has now inspired 3 different woven scarves--alternating this beautiful blueberry cream with a natural color thin to thick yarn, a second scarf alternating this with a beautiful purple yarn, and now I want more to alternate this with a deeper blue. I love it.

Good quality but colors are not true
The color is much different in person. It is less gray/black and has a lot of very bright blues and purples that make it less than desirable for the project I had in mind. I’ll find another use for it and the yarn is of good quality. I wish there were more pictures of the yarn listed so I have a better idea of the colors.

Used it to make a soft hat.
I used this yarn to make a soft winter hat. It didn't have many knots, only 1 or 2 in the whole length. The color was spread evenly all through. The yarn was strong and not easily broken. The only downside is the yarn a little bit sticky that I noticed more as I worked with it.

2 different dye lots
I received my 5 skeins of yarn from Friends & Fiberworks promptly however 3 skeins were from 1 dye lot & the other 2 from another dye lot. The 2 dye lots are distinctly different.
