If you have rats, GET THIS BAIT STATION!!!
My daughter and I are avid gardeners. My daughter lives in the city and I live on a rural hobby farm. Oddly enough, she is plagued by large rats who eat all of her fruit and vegetables, and I am not. The worst part is, they take a bite out of a vegetable and leave the rest to rot. It's so annoying and so frustrating. You see a nice piece of fruit growing and you can't wait to harvest it. And on the day you're going to pick it, you find a giant rat bite out of it. It's just the worst. I watched a video on Youtube and the guy in the video is a professional exterminator for vermin and other pests. He recommended getting this bait station and a rather expensive bait that comes in a bucket. We bought both. We bought two of these bait stations and a large bucket of bait. We put it out at my daughter's place and she used to be able to lie in bed in her basement bedroom and hear the rats running around outside in her garden. After we put the bait station in, she could still hear them running around and she got quite discouraged, thinking it wasn't working. But after a few nights, she noticed that there was no more scurrying around and the rats were no longer bothering her vegetables. She didn't see any dead rats, but she didn't see or hear any live ones either. Then one day, she called me and said she smelled something dead. We almost jumped up and down and had a party. We knew that it was the rats eating the bait and dying. I will do another review on the bait. You want to get good bait that does not endanger your pets. And this bait is completely safe. Not only that, if a dog or cat eats a dead rat that ate this bait, the poison will not travel from the dead animal to your pet. It's really good stuff. It's not cheap, but it works very well. Watch for my review on the bait.

Great method for Mice control
I have had these bait stations for some time now. They were easy to set up and I purchased Contrac Blox for Poison to fill the bait station, and things have been great. Definitely wear gloves when cleaning and filling the station. We bought our house almost 3 years ago and after we moved in we realized that the previous owner lied on their disclosure saying there were no issues with mice after only two weeks. Luckily they were never in the house. Just in the crawl spaces and attic, but, it wouldn't be long for them to find a way in. Luckily my pest control service, who said these pests had been here for years, after looking at the damage they did in the attic, was able to clear them out. We thought we were in the clear, but during our second winter, I heard them again. I have a whole long story about finding out how they were getting in, but long story short, I sealed up all entry points and decided to be pro-active and buy these bait stations. I have two, one on either side of the house. Since sealing the entry points, which I also check quite often to make sure they cannot get back in that same way, and filling these bait stations every few months we have had zero mice problems. I would highly recommend these stations as they are easy to set up, cheaper than constantly calling pest control services, and they have held up well over a couple of years. I would recommend them to anyone with this issue.

Well built, worth the wait, worth the $
Buy a 4lb pail of poison/bait blocks for a perfect set up. I see the value and the reason the cost is more then the cheepo others I bought as well for comparison. There is a reason this is what pest companies use. This is bigger, weighted, and holds more bait/poison. And they feel way more durable than the others. (Don't buy tomcat, unless needing one asap). This is a must have for long term control. I am highly satisfied with this. By the way this doesn't come with the poison or bait. Buy contract or use the blocks from cheep tomcat.

Scratched up but they’re intact and work well
Arrived and no issues except I purchased these to replace identical boxes I’m renting from a professional exterminator. The only difference is the old ones I’ve been renting are in great shape. These NEW stations I received today look terrible. Not even sure if these aren’t already used, dragged behind a truck, then returned & sold as new ;) but, they’re rat bait stations so appearance isn’t all that important. These are very solid, heavy, and well designed. There’s a reason professionals use this exact model - they are safe, versatile, and they are effective.

Weighted and secure large size bait station for squirres or rats.
One of the standout features of the Protecta EVO Express is its substantial size. The spacious interior provides ample room for bait placement, ensuring that it can effectively target a larger population of rodents. This is particularly advantageous when dealing with persistent infestations, as it allows for efficient pest management. Moreover, the unit's weight is worth mentioning. The Protecta EVO Express is impressively heavy, which adds an extra layer of stability. Once in place, it stays put, providing peace of mind that the bait station will remain effective and secure even in high-traffic areas. This is a notable advantage over lighter alternatives that may be easily displaced by curious rodents or environmental factors. The locking mechanism on the Protecta EVO Express is not only simple to use but also highly effective. It provides a reliable barrier that prevents unauthorized access, keeping the bait and poison secure from unintended exposure. This feature is crucial for ensuring the safety of pets and non-target wildlife while still effectively targeting the intended pests. Another feature that I found particularly convenient is the bait loading pins. They securely hold the poison in place, preventing any spillage or unintended exposure. This not only enhances the overall safety of using the bait station but also ensures that the poison remains potent and attractive to the target rodents. In conclusion, the Protecta EVO Express Bait Station has proven to be a reliable and efficient solution for addressing rodent issues. Its large size, impressive weight, secure locking mechanism, and user-friendly bait loading pins make it a standout choice for those seeking a robust pest control option. I highly recommend this bait station for anyone looking to manage larger pests with confidence.

cheap quality
After a few weeks I checked my bait in this. The second time just raising the lid the rear of it came undone, rendering it useless trying to close and secure. Plus good luck in trying to place the vertical rods w/o a hammer.
