Ok, not great but high priced
1. The unit can't be powered on to just go to the GPS setting thus you have to select another source first in order to use the GPS. If you select "Radio" first there's now way to simply turn off the radio to solely use the GPS unless you mute everything & then you lose the GPS sound / voice as well.2. The radio dial on the right can adjust the stations however it takes too many turns to feel correct and is too slow in responding This needs calibrating so the feel of the knob turning is consistent with what you see.3. The only way to get to the MENU of the system is with the remote control, which is annoying.4. The volume on the GPS is too low compared to the radio & dvd so your always lowering the Radio & then increasing the GPS volume which is never ending especially when your listening to music & using the GPS. There needs to be an auto volume level for whatever source your using so it makes all volume levels the same.I hope this feedback helps because if you fix the above listed items which is simply software issues your product is the very good otherwise and I would then rate it overall a 9 out of 10 starsOn a scale of 1 (worst) & 10 (best) I have rated your product below10 for fit10 for finish8 for overall speed of unit9 GPS ease of use (this gps is as simple as it gets however the voice never announces street names just "turn left in 100 feet" etc.6 for the kit which had minimal documentation and no links to info which were several days later emailed to me.9 communication & help / support from eTRAVERSE-- Gary1 going to website & downloading / updating maps (which crashed the GPS so I had to manually download & install maps from Gary who was helpful but not always available day to day8 website layout & functionality for doing the GPS maps & update options6 button use / functionality (mainly because you can't select GPS as a startup option so the button use isn't completely functional / simple7 price (this unit $817 usd is the most expensive one I've seen which is why I bought it to hopefully "get what you pay for", ideally I was looking for the most expensive unit which I also figured would be the best unit, in this case it's not the best but was most expensive.

Astrium GEE-5985 issues
I would love to give this unit a higher rating, as of now it's lucky to receive a 3. I installed this item a week before taking a 10 day cross country trip. In that time I got familiar with it. Up to that point, it worked great. On the second day of our trip, the NAV unit would not load, giving me a illegal operation message. After numerous resets the unit started working again. I had this issued on and off again for the remainder of the trip, thankfully we had a secondary GPS AND a MAP! Now the GPS will not start up at all, and I am trying to resolve the issue. When the GPS works it is pretty good. Things I like; Lane assist is invaluable in unfamiliar areas where you might go from one interchange to the next in rapid succession. Quick startup, follow-on maneuver window, user definable data window, factory look and ease of installation, entertainment portion (I-pod, radio, satellite radio, DVD, and virtual 6 disc changer) all work well with sound that is at least as good as the factory radio/CD.Things I don't like so much; Screen brightness, even in night mode and dim, still a little too bright when driving in dark areas. A screen brightness slider option would be good in addition to the 3 position dimmer. (Personal preference only here, you can turn off the display with the unit still running and turn it back on with one touch) Trip computer will not hold memory. If you stop for gas the trip computer resets. (May be a part of the unit malfunction) Instruction manual is lousy! You will have to learn this unit by using it. Luckily it is pretty strait forward. If not for the unusable (currently) NAV unit, I would have rated this unit at a 4.5. The seller, Aidos Electronics, so far have been outstanding. I am currently working with Astrium to correct the issues, so I may update this review.Update. My software issue was resolved through Aidos Electronics, and the unit is again working well. The trip computer no longer resets itself when I stop for gas. I now rate this item a 4.5, with the seller, Aidos Electronics rated at 5!
