For the price I was expecting something that looked much cheaper and hokeyer then what I received and I was thus very pleasently surprised. It may not be the highest craftsmanship in the world if one were to get technical, but one would have to really look for that as aesthetically it's lovely and a beautiful dirk to behold even if it is only ceremonial.

I bought this to finish off my Highland dress for a Renaissance Festival, and was very pleased with the "black knife"! It has an incredible edge and is very sharp, which I did not anticipate. One side is smooth as it is a blade to go into your sock and that side goes against your skin. The sheath is snug and stays on nicely, requiring a slight tug to extract the blade. The entire piece is wonderfully crafted and looks amazing.

Although I did not take a picture of the silver tip of the case off, it was not secure. I will have to glue it on. Other than that the knife was nice. Heavy and larger than expected. The sliver ornamental addition to the casing is plastic. The black casing itself is a heavier plastic. Over all good and price was good.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and how nice this Sgian Dubh looks. I feared it would look shabby, being made of plastic and with such a low price. But from six or eight feet away you might not realize it is made of plastic.However, I was not pleasantly surprised at the size. At ten and a half inches long and two inches wide, it certainly fills a sock. Makes one look as if he is compensating for something perhaps. If this were seven to eight inches long and and inch and a half wide, it would have been perfect.The steel blade was secure. The metallic decorations look good. There are some minor mold marks (very small ridges where the forms came together) that can only be seen clearly up close and are located on the sides which are not noticeable when in one's kilt hose. Probably could be sanded off with some very fine grit sandpaper, but may not be worth the effort.I would recommend this to a friend, but with a warning about the size (unless they were six and half feet tall with long shins and wide calves).

Overall this product should only be used as a decorative piece. The scabbard and handle both appear to be made of plastic. I fear gripping it to hard could actually damage it. As for the blade, while beautiful in appearance the back of the knife I received the blade had marks/gouges on the back of the blade.I was gonna give this as a gift but I think I’ll instead place it out of sight and get a quality knife elsewhere.

Very sturdy, great craftsmanship with good weight to it. Great value for the money.

The price is cheap but it looks cheap and feels cheap. It's large to the point of being cartoonish which only makes the fact that the detailing on it just looks kinda sloppy stand out even more. I got it to throw together a highlander outfit and if you are trying to look at all serious, this isn't it. Better to pass on it and do without.

I am very happy with the product, nicely made and is perfect for any traditional Scottish attire, theOnly thing I will note is that it is for decorative purposes and not a knife that should be used for hunting or what not I noticed a few nevative reviews because people thought a Sgian Dubh was for use, it is used for decoration.
