I typically use 2 different style sprinklers for the various areas in my yard: one with a circular design that has 8 projections patterns on top, and the which shoots/projects water far distances. I think this one will take place of both.Packaging was nondescript and product came loose in the box. The only instructions included was for the Melnor QuickConnect system which includes one free piece. I had used this before years ago but upgraded to the metal version as the plastic parts didn't hold up.Assembly of the sprinkler is as easy as hooking a garden hose to the wall, and the adjustments on it are phenomenal. SPREAD is controlled on the top with two levers which allows you to vary your pattern from | | to | / to \ | to \ /. For irregular shaped yards this is great. Some adjustment shelves below the head adjusts the TRAVEL with many degrees of adjustment. A feature I really like is the +/- knob on the side which controls VOLUME of water coming out. Often to get that just-right amount of water coming out you must adjust the water flow from the wall, too much, ok little more, ok too much again, ehh... that's close enough. Now you can fine-tune the pressure from the knob which is great.The only concern I have is that the whole unit is plastic so longevity may become an issue. Melnor's QuickConnect system I used before did not last so I hope this sprinkler holds up much better than that product.

I have a long rectangular but small area of grass. I have tried a handful of different sprinklers in an attempt to water just the 20'x40' section without watering my cement, chairs, patio ect... as I am waiting to have the time to install an in ground sprinkler system. I Set this up on a hose/cheap timer from lowes and it worked perfectly for the couple weeks I was out of town . Grass looks better than when I was watering it daily by hand and got even (and not wasteful) coverage. It feels a little cheap when you're handling it and may not hold up to long term sun exposure and use, but so far so good and at the price i cant complain.

I wanted to be able to water specific areas of my flower gardens without wasting a tremendous amount of water. This works perfectly! Someone complained that there was no instruction manual for how to set the water pattern. It took me a minute to figure it out and I got a little wet and that made it all the more fun! It's very intuitive. It's very stable. And I'm ordering another one!

I have an end unit townhome so there's a long, narrow strip of grass right next to my house. This sprinkler is perfect in that I can customize all of the directions it sprays so it doesn't go too far to one side and spray the passing cars, or too far forward so that it sprays the sidewalk. It doesn't come with any instructions on how to operate it, but all of the levers are pretty self-explanatory and if you still can't figure it out, you can search for the sprinkler on YouTube and easily find a tutorial.I've been using this for a few weeks now and would definitely buy this again!

This is exactly what I need. The circular sprinklers either miss the corners of the yard or they heavily overwater the sidewalk. Regular back and forth type sprinklers require a lot of adjustment of water pressure and precise placement but even then sometimes spray too much in one direction and not enough in another or aren't wide enough. I was able to spike this one down in the middle of my back yard and just turn the water on. Each time the water would pass by me I'd just walk up and make adjustments to the length/width of the coverage area. It's certainly possible to do all of this with a normal sprinkler but it's so tedious trying to remember the EXACT spot in the lawn that the sprinkler was in, and the EXACT angle, with the EXACT water pressure. Now I can just spike this thing in the ground, turn it on, make a few clicks, and it's done. I'm ordering at least 1 more for the front lawn. It's such a time saver if you water the lawn regularly.

Having just put in a variety of foundation plantings (61 individual items) I was looking for a watering alternative that didn't involve me standing with a hose for 1 1/2 to 2 hours making sure each planting got sufficient water. The two different style sprinklers that I had watered lawn, driveway and walkway as much as garden plantings. In looking for something more adjustable I came across the Melnor MiniMax Turbo.While there are no set up instructions, it is easy to figure out and just what I needed to focus most of the water on the various sized foundation plots without wasting a lot on collateral areas.While it is plastic and light weight, the function serves my purpose and given the price, if it lasts a couple of seasons, I it is well worth it. If not, I will be back to reevaluate my rating.Sept. 22, 2019I have to downgrade my original rating. The sprinkler, even at full pressure, frequently stops oscillating. When this happens, there is no telling where the steady stream will be directed. You could check back after a half hour only to find that you're watering a narrow strip of lawn rather than the intended foundation plantings a few feet beyond the spray. It wouldn't be so bad if you could choose to stop oscillation, leaving a steady spray on a narrow strip of plantings. But, since there is no stop oscillation setting, lack of consistency makes this sprinkler unusable and I will continue to search for something more dependable.

The product appears good. Not going to chance screwing up all the different settings. NO owners manual or operating instructions. No reference on Amazon site.

I'd struggled with several other sprinkler models over the years and I ended up soaked trying to adjust the sprinkler so that it didn't hit the neighbor's lawn or that it went far enough ... you name it. This one is easy to adjust in just a few moments, all while staying dry!

Bought this last year. It was good for 1 season and leaking water everywhere on second season. Contacted Melnor for warranty and no response at all, so much for “stand behind our products”. Won’t buy another product from this brand again.

Bought this to replace our current sprinkler since it wouldn't stretch to our newly laid lawn. Easy to setup and connect, only thing hat required time is getting the setting right for the length and width of our lawn. After few mins, have our sweet spot and glad to see it reaches the top to end of our lawn now. Oscillating is very well as we can see the sprays and slow shifting back and forth with ease.Bought this instead of the other one available on Amazon since it's cheaper (half price) and does the same.Since early days so far and no issues, happy to use this.

Item arrived damaged waited a long time for this to arrive and very disappointed

It covers every corner of our small backyard. But it was definitely overpriced given the quality. I really concerned how long it can last.
