Function is critical in this device type
Works as advertised. Using both at different voltage values. Rock solid so far.

works as step-up & step-down
Needed boost from 12V to 15V for PC Fan. Tried multiple MT3608 based step-ups from Amazon - they fried or did not regulate. This one works as expected - regulates above and below input V, with or without load.

Decent converters, but they cut off at around 3.6V
These are decent, but they cut off at around 3.6V when the output is set to 4.1V. I use these to boost the voltage from a Li-ion battery to a constant 4.1V. It holds the set output voltage well, but it cuts off when the battery is still at 60-70% capacity, even though the product page said it would cut off at 3V.

The XL6009 is rated only down to 5V, not 3V as it lists
This works well, and it brings out the Enable pin so you can control the output on and off by pulling this low. My only complaint is it lists "Input Range: 3V ~ 32V" but if you look at the XLSEMI XL6009 datasheet it lists "5V to 32V Input Voltage Range". Testing it, at room temperature, it appears to work down to 3.3V. When you start getting less than this, it will start to generate a high voltage (+24 to 48 volts) on the output. It doesn't always do this, and once you get around 2.8V it will only give you the input voltage at the output. But in this range, it could easily kill your electronics. There are other converters that work down to 2.4V, but they don't bring the Enable pin out.

Will not supply more than 2.4 amps before going into current limit. Does NOT supply up to 4 Amps!
If it worked as specified it would have been perfect but in use, at 12VDC, could not supply more than 2.45 amps before going into shutdown, voltage takes a dive and sever limit. Sad!!!

Affordable but noisy.
I bought two of these and some others from tindie.com and compared. These units work but they didn't have a lot more noise / ripple than the other I tried. I forget how much but I think it was ~300 mV peak-to-peak. For battery charging I think are are OK. I'll stick to the more expensive units with a built in LED voltage display.

Dangerous, will damage your electronics
If the input voltage is between 3.0~3.3V the output suddenly jumps to 40~50V. Very dangerous. It would work if you know for sure your inputs will NEVER be in that range, otherwise this will fry your electronics.
