Q: Are these ok for pyrography ?

That's what I ordered them for. They are very soft wood and do burn quite fast.

Q: Are these sturdy enough for engraving using a engraving machine?

Yes these are sturdy enough to be cnc milled and engraved. I’ve made various different custom coasters out of these.

Q: Do these need to be ‘ sealed ‘ to avoid marking if used as coasters?

I’ve never used them as coasters but am on a pyrography fb group that always seal them. I think the slice would crack if you didn’t. Hope that helps
