Well. Finally a bit that worked for me...
Finally found a drill bit that worked for me. time is money. and if i spend 20 seconds drilling each hole that adds up. im drilling 1/8 thick stainless numerous times. Well titanium just dont do it. 20+ seconds to get through the metal per hole. So i bought cobalt bits. 25 seconds for each hole. The titanium won but after 100 holes the titanium was garbage. this carbide bit is 3-4x the price of the titanium but for me its 2 seconds a hole. i have no way of knowing if its real carbide or not but for me 18 seconds per hole savings its worth it.time is money.

For drilling hardened metals it works well
This carbide bit was sharp and as is typical of carbide cutting tools, it went though hardened steel easily. I can't rate any carbide highly for durability because it's fragile and brittle. That's not a knock on this item; just the nature of carbide. For aluminum, brass, bronze and most steel, a high speed steel bit is a better choice because it's more durable.

Use one time; happy so far
I needed something to drill through tough Allen hex headed bolts. This went though without issue. I think high speed would have worked too. Now I need to order a 1/16" dia. version. These "thumbscrews" replace Harris Bipod thumbscrews.

Very strong bit, drilled through a broken extractor tool!
I had tried every other type of bit out there to get through the extractor that broke inside the seized bolt and nothing would put a dent in it. This thing did a great job and getting through it. I abused the hell out of the bit too and stayed sharp. Drill america for the win!

Really strong
Broke a screw extractor inside of a screw and had to redo the hole, bought titanium drills but couldn’t start a hole. This carbide drills can make a hole on anything, save my life

The only thing that would drill through knife steel
I was concerned because several reviews mentioned the drill bits breaking. I know carbide is brittle so I was careful. The regular twist bits didn't put a dent in the knife steel I was drilling. A drop of oil and moderate pressure and this carbide drill had no problems at all. Expensive compared to ordinary steel drill bits, but it was the only thing that worked on that hard steel.

works great!
I make knives for a living and forget to drill holes a lot when hardening blades. These drill right through no problem. I always go slow though and use a little oil, don't force things.

Cuts nice, but definitely brittle
Nice bit, cuts well but really truly brittle.I figured everyone else breaking these is doing it wrong so I figured it would give it a shot for 1/4” stainless. You truly need a perfect, vibration free vise and are drilling perfectly in line.It was going great till one hole was slightly imperceptibly out of line. Violently shattered the bit. Going to switch to something more flexible for now

Tip Broke off after first use, lubricated and at moderate speed, cutting stainless steel.
Not durable at all. Tip Broke off after first use, lubricated and at moderate speed, cutting stainless steel. Unsatisfactory.

Avoid

do not buy
product broke/chiped after 2 holes, cobalt drill bit in same applications lasted 30 holes before became dull
