American Government

I purchased this book as part of my quest to obtain my high school dipoloma, 30 years after-the-fact. Although I am taking classes, the adult school budget doesn't allow you to remove the books from class, so this is helping me speed up the process. This text book arrived in great condition and will be passed on to my daughter-in-law when I am finished with it.

I used this text last year with a group of high school students that were in need of adjusted content for a government class. The text is written in a more concise and understandable way which I found helpful and that the students grasped and felt successful with as we moved through the chapters. I give the text four stars only because it is 17 years old - although as a text it addresses the foundations of our democracy and is a good choice for students that may struggle with subjects such as government.

This book is great for students that are behind,or that have IEPs who are in Jr, or Senior High. It breaks things down so that the student can understand without being overwhelmed. I recommend using every book from Pacemaker curriculum.

I use these books with students with special needs. The chapters and lessons are short but packed with information that is standards-based. The students feel good about having books and are learning the same material as their peers.
