The cables supplied by TCM/WBC are a brilliant way to dispel the myth that audiophile interconnects must be expensive and use exotic materials and unusual construction. In fact a cable simply needs to be a great conductor with reasonable interference protection - everything else is tone control.The Mogami 2549 here is a very low capacitance interconnect made from well thought of cable often used as microphone leads by recording engineers, great for long runs and with adequate shielding for all but the noisiest of environments. As such the transmission of signal down this cable is probably way more efficient than you might be used to in a domestic audio situation, so you will hear more, feel more high frequency presence and initially this can be interpreted as brightness or harshness.Two things I would recommend, run the cable in for a day or so (I found it stabilised after around 30 - 50 hours) but without listening, this is important as we don’t want to train the ear/brain system just yet! Then, after it is happily bedded in sit down and listen for a few hours, then again a bit later - keep this up for a day or two. Like me you might still feel this cable is bright, so then do what I did, put your old cable back in - I was surprised at how closed in and rounded off my previous cable sounded!I know it’s not a comfortable truth for us audiophiles, but the ear/brain interface is adaptive, and what’s bright today will be bags of wonderful detail in a day or two - you have plenty of time to try out this cable, TCM are great at giving advice. If you are worried your system already sounds bright then try the Gotham GAC-4, this has higher capacitance and much more extensive shielding, which can warm things up a little and take off the edges - I tried it for a week and thought it was brilliant, until I put the Mogami back in! 😂

Great cable but locking rca plug do you think do not tighten enough for my dac

If you're here to improve your sound you have come to the right place.Purchased these for a project turntable, instant result unlike most upgrades like platter mats e.t.c. less static, more volume, clearer sound and improved bass. Similar project leads cost around £80. Would definitely recommend. Purchased another set for a cd player that had a slight hum, cured instantly. Best upgrade I have made yet.

Not often do you come across a product exceeding expectations by a pretty far margin. This low capacitance cable terminated with high quality, locking plugs with real gold plated finish exudes quality and does not cost an arm and a leg. Highly recommended for discerning listeners.

I looked at numerous branded audio interconnects, most of which command very high prices and came to the conclusion that none were likely to be 'neutral' cables. By that I mean that they are tuned to have an impact on the sound in some way (brighter/duller/more dynamic etc). What I wanted was a cable which would simply pass through the audio without picking up interference from radio or electromagnetic waves. In short the sort of cables a studio would use to make the recordings I listen to. These cables use Mogami cable used very commonly by studios. They are also used for microphone connections which are critical and very susceptible to interference.The Eminence plugs are robust and seem very well made. Having the ability to be tightened onto the sockets would prevent them becoming loose or disconnected. They are quite flexible.There is a note in the packaging stating that they can take 175 hours of use (continuous or intermittent) to reach their optimum sound performance. There is also a note to suggest they will accept returns outside the Amazon returns window if not satisfied and use has been over 175 hours. With normal use I am sure that the 30 day window will be plenty to evaluate whether they are to your taste. I am nowhere near the 175 hours yet but I did notice a difference over the first 12 hours use and suspect that they are pretty well 'there'. First impression were good but the sound now is more balanced tonally and more relaxed. It is as if the musicians had held back their performance to begin with, then relaxed and put all their effort into it.I am pleased to have got what I was looking for - a neutral cable with proprietary professional standard components, well made and reasonably priced. WBC offer other branded cable and different plugs in the range at similar prices.
