Q: Does the white shirt have a sewn-in tag or a printed "tag"? If sewn-in, what color is the tag?

I ordered the black shirt, not the white but the black one has a sewen in tag that is white with back lettering.

Q: what's the difference between Large and Tall Large?

The large is regular size and the Large Tall is longer then the large regular.

Q: Does the shirt run small? I wear a large but had to get a x large.

The shirt runs true to size. It's not snug. We now have 3 of them. I wash it in cold water and dry it on low with no shrinkage. The sleeves are still nice and long.
