What is best to use to apply the oil?

I have been using an old cloth diaper that I keep in a rubbermaid container - now that the weather is clearing up I will take my benches out - clean with aqua teak cleaner and then take out my trusty rag and rub the oil in and let it bake in the sun!

Is there a 'best method' for applying it to the inside of the saw cuts of my Aqua Teak shower chair?

what happens when you use this on a front door, in direct sunlight? (summers get over 110 degrees)
