I love Captivating History books! They are always well-written and very interesting. They provide enough info but not too much that drags the book down. This book is no different.

This book gives a good general idea about what happened but it’s not an economics book by any means. Great to get a general idea but that’s it.

While I like the idea of readable history, too many grammatical errors and some poor writing make you wonder who actually wrote and edited this, which then calls into question its accuracy.

I am seeking understand the Human ,History and how affect in the here and now. This again was enlightening Read . It seems this haunted many people even in the present day.

A quick read with some good facts. A couple of the facts were new to me. Well worth the time to read.

I really enjoyed this book. It referred to the Battle of Britain as "the blitz", which seems incorrect but other than that it was very well done.

This was a fun read because it gave such an interesting and new information. New information that I was not aware of. When I think of the Great Depression I think of only the United States. Didn’t really realize it was a world wide situation. Shows the impact of FDR & his programs developed to alleviate the nations economic problems. Unfortunately, we also see the rise of Hitler In Europe & the eventual chaos he created.Get this book & get an informed view of this time period in World History.Kudos once again to the staff at Captivating History.

A clear and interesting overview of the circumstances surrounding the depression era. We have all experienced it’s effects. The author keeps his interpretation of the events to a minimum, while at the same time he provides some informative insights. Good read!

I gave 5 stars as this book aside from being a well written text was a solid and well defined explanation of events that forged not only the beginnings of ww2 but also the heart off what was the great depression.

Purchased to help learn a little about the Great Depression. Concisely tells the story of the Depression from its beginning in the United States to the wider economic conditions in Europe and Asia. Including the rise of Fascism in both Italy and Germany and the inevitable conflict that would affect so many countries. Plenty of detail and back ground including the affects of various administrations and their policies which were put in place to try and limit some of the effects on society. Some worked well, others not so , but you get an idea of what was attempted in a period of history that had wide ranging affects both politically and economically.
