Just as I Am: A Memoir

This is not only a book that you buy for your home library to have forever, but it is also a book that you tell everyone you know about! To hear the amazing Ms. Tyson's story and life in her words, in her voice, was a truly a treat. Not only is this book a history lesson of Black History and culture in the 20th century, but it is an in-depth look at one of the true gifts of our lifetime. I found myself highlighting multiple inspirational passages and words, and just truly grateful that she was able to get this all down before passing shortly after publication. I can go on and on about this book, but you just have to read it for yourself!

This book is so good and very well written. I highly recommend it!!

Cecily Tydon did a wonderful job of sharing her life story and providing background behind some of the pivotal moments in her life during different times in history. It's certainly a page turner!Speaking of which; as I got to the center of the book (where the pictures are) it literally split apart. And the more I read, the more it tore. This is such an awful representation of a woman who lived such a sophisticated and classy life.

I love her movies so I know I would enjoy her book. I just wanted to say I LOVED it.

This was beautifully written and packed full of knowledge and inspiration and I didn't know I needed! This book quenched my soul and set fire to my heart! A must read for sure a recollection not to brag or boast but to encourage and enlighten! Powerfully eloquent, tastefully written and astutely presented.

This book was written beautifully and I enjoyed it … only downside was so much time spend on Miles Davis but I guess you dedicate time to what impacts you the most in your own memoir.

I couldn’t put this book down that I also got the audiobook to gingerly listen to at work and anytime I couldn’t hold the book. This is what a biography is all about! 1924 - 2021 Rest in Peace our Queen. Thank you for the love letter

I totally enjoyed this memoir from Cicely Tyson. I felt as if she was with me sharing her life journey. The honesty, the trials, the films, her warmth, her resilience and so much more made me wish that I had met her. Especially since we share the same birthday. I will re read this again one day. I am sure of it. Buy it and read it and you too will be touched and uplifted by her truth, her journey, her wisdom and more. Thank you Ms Tyson. Thank you...

I love this book and couldn’t put it down! It’s like every word is spoken direct to you by the great Cicely Tyson herself.Inspiring. Eye opening and makes you want to go out and share your passion with the world.

I could not put this book down! Cicely Tyson was one of my favourite actress growing up & reading some of her memoirs was lovely. I recommend this book.
