Good basic rower
Watch the YouTube video to assemble- very easy with the video, can’t go wrong. Took me about 30 mins on my own.The rower is decent for the price - if you’re looking for something to get you started this is very good. For me there is a lot of resistance so will serve me well for a long time, my husband finds it a bit easier but works well on longer slogs. I’d have to be one a serious rowing fanatic to want to upgrade - great for home gym. I wanted an alternative to running.Folds away easily.I am 5ft 4 and have no problem using it in contrast with another reviewer.Things to improve...Pedals whack the floor so make sure you have protection underneath. My 4mm mat is not going to last long under this so I need to upgrade. Noticeable wear after two uses so get something set up so you don’t have to worry about damage to your floor. The pedals are a bit awkward compared to a professional gym version but you get used to it pretty quick.

Pretty good budget machine
Bought this rower as I’m on a tight budget, and can’t afford to spend nearly 1,000 GBP on the Concept 2 (which is out of stock anyway!). It was fairly simple to assemble - I followed the JLL tutorial on YouTube (included in the instructions), and I think it took me a leisurely 30 mins. It’s easy store away as it folds upright (after you remove a couple of the big screws) and the wheels make it easy to move around the house should you wish. Rowing itself seems pretty smooth and quiet as it works with a belt and not air. I have found that the seat is a little wobbly, but I’m used to that now.Frankly, it’s a decent rower for the price paid. The downside is that the display is pretty basic and there’s no space or facility to attach a device to track your progress. You can only rely on the very basic distance, calorie count (which when compared to the activity setting on my apple watch isn’t too far off) and a few other figures I haven’t quite figured out yet.I follow a few workouts on YouTube which all use the concept 2. Although I can follow the workout, I do wish I had spent the time to save up for a better machine due to the limited functionality and accessories on the JLL. However, that being said, it does what I want it to, and I’ve noticed a difference in the 2 weeks that I’ve used it.The crux of the matter is, if you can afford a more expensive and well known model, good for you, and go ahead and order one. But if you’re like me and are new to rowing and can’t afford a more flashy machine, go with this one for now just to get your started, save up and take the plunge later.

Overall, very happy.
I purchased one a couple of months ago, as my 14 stone middle aged frame wasn't getting any thinner, having used rowing machines (Concept 2) a lot in my youth. The assembly wasn't that difficult, the instructions could have been a bit clearer at a couple of points, but nothing you can't figure out by looking at the diagrams and pieces carefully. The plastic cover on mine had a crack in it when I took it out of the packaging, presumably down to the courier, but on being contacted, the sellers sent out a replacement which arrived within a couple of days, so 5/5 for customer service. It's pretty quiet to use. My sons bedroom is next to the room it's set up in, and our bedoom is across the hallway. He never wakes up when I use it first thing in the morning, that's no great achievement as a nuclear explosion wouldn't wake him up in the morning, but the wife usually sleeps through it. It's certainly not noisy, it wouldn't stop you having a normal conversation or watching TV in the next room. The computer lets you set up various displays, with an LCD mark by whichever setting you have it on. These are a little difficult to read as you're zooming up and down the slide, but if you're trying to exercise to improve over time, you're probably only going to leave it on one setting anyway, so you can compare your hoped for improvement - Mine's on time v distance and that's the way it's staying for now.I don't know if I've got funny-shaped feet or what, but I found when putting the velcro straps through the loops on the pedals and strapping my feet in, my heels would start slipping out the bottom. The loops on the pedals are just above the bolt holding the pedal onto the machine, I just put the straps round the pedal just below the bolt, voila! Problem solved! The straps themselves are pretty substantial. As stated, I've had it about a couple of months now, and it's brilliant. I can feel the improvement in fitness already, see my time for 500M intervals coming down and see my heartrate recovery improving over that time period. Highly recommended.

Good but cheap - you get what you pay for!
This is a well priced machine but you get what you pay for. The mechanism is fairly noisy (although you can hear music over the top of its drone), build quality is cheap. I've used concept 2 rowers at the gym and this product is poor by comparison. The electronic readout is ok, but it doesn't show you a Km/min rate; only stroke count/min. I am also dubious about the supposed 'Km' distance readout as it appears to be based solely on the stroke count, which in turn is based on the seat activating a switch on the machine body. Therefore, if you only use your arms to row, you appear to go nowhere! In short, the readout is not realistic of actual rowing. Other than that, its fine for my purposes of getting a bit of a workout and offers reasonable value.
