good little firewall
Let me just say that a lot of features on fortinet firewalls require subscriptions, including firmware updates. This came with a 1 year subscription when I got it so that's good. You kinda need to know how to work it or be prepared to spend a bit of time figuring some of the stuff out. Port forwarding isn't as straightforward as you might think if you got this to to replace a standard router. That said it has a lot of good standard and optional features. The wifi isn't super powerful so may need some extenders or better yet get a dedicated wireless access point. Basic setup is pretty simple, and it doesn't take up much space.Settings can be adjusted without rebooting, allowing a lot of on-the-fly updates without taking down your internet.Speeds are good, but remember that some of the optional security features will lower throughput, like IDS/IPS. If you need all features on and full gigabit throughput you'll need a bigger, more expensive model.

An industrial grade Wireless access with only one radio?
Fortinet has become a market leader in the industrial grade network security space, but this device is not a good fit for what I needed. To begin with; it has only one radio, and it can either be set to 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz. Some of my devices can't see this access point regardless of what band I configure it for. It has an impressive list of very granular settings for this and that, and will probably be good in an office setting with lots of other adjacent wireless access points and lots of network devices. It is designed to work with various Fortigate Internet services, which again might be very useful in an industrial setting but overkill for my simple home network. I am going to replace this with something simpler.

Not 'authorized' reseller but I would do it again
They are not an 'authorized' reseller per fortinet, but I needed this device fast. They addressed my concerns after the purchase quickly and fairly. I had to also buy an online fortinet subscription for additional coverage which I knew may have been a possibility. Thnx guys.
