Short Monologues for Auditions

I've only needed to use one monologue so far and it was very amusing to my class. My teacher enjoyed it so much she asked where I got the monologue from. I just wish there were a few more monologues in the book for this price.

I'm an actor, sometimes. When I'm not at the piano, that is. And this set of monologues will be a perfect resource for the occasional audition that's required by directors with which I've not yet worked. At least there aren't any old trite warhorses that the director has heard delivered so many times and so badly that he's prejudiced just by the title! Thank you.

This book is fine, but my son thought the monologues were still a little lengthy.

If you're looking for monologues then I would suggest this book. There are a lot of different varieties that you can find, and there are a lot of good quality monologues. The book also give you some good tips for picking a monologue that would be good for you so you can have a good audition. I found some in here and used them. Highly recommended.

Lots of monologues for the aspiring actor. A wide variety of material (drama/comedy/slice of life) but mostly for younger actors.

Good selections of short monologues . . . As long as it does not matter to the actor or those the actor is auditioning for, that the playwrights are not well known.

Not the world's best English but they are a good length
