I liked the idea of this product, but the usability was an issue. I downloaded the VLC player as recommended, but none of my DVDs would play. The device was working, but there must be some problem where it couldn't read a DVD. I was able to use it with CDs, but the DVD part not working when the description says it does is irritating.

I got this to use with my new Dell Windows 10 laptop. It was very difficult to get windows to recognize it, and it performed poorly resulting in frequent Windows Installer errors. This is not a Windows 10 compatible DVD drive. To be fair, the seller does not say that it is for Windows 10. They do say it works on all other versions back to Windows XP, but they are silent about Windows 10. I bought it based on reviews that said it worked fine on their Windows 10 computer, but they must have a different Windows 10 release than mine. It is going back.

This DVD player is plug and play. The USB cord it comes with has a slot along the bottom so when not in use, it can be tucked away. The cord itself isn't long. The material is a brushed plastic that looks like metal. There's just one On/Off button on it. It's simple and once connected to my computer, it immediately started up and was recognized. Easy to use and matches the color/design of my computer.

This dvd/cd drive works With any laptop, you just plug in to the USB port, put the disk I. And then open just like a usb drive device. We got it very inexpensive to retrieve our family pictures from the cds so we could save on a regular jump drive

I purchased the external CD/DVD drive primarily to burn music from my 2020 Windows 10 PC laptop to CDs. It did read photos from a previously burned CD to be displayed on the Dell Inspiron. I and my husband couldn't make it burn with Windows Media Player or the laptop's Wizard. He tried it on his 2020 Mac with no better results. It was useless as a burner.

The cord was so short it would not plug into any port on my machine. Instructions a to plug into a back port, but then you can not get to the drive or see it....Not good for a desktop at all, especially a big one. May be ok for a laptop.

I purchase this to play and rip audio cds. It did not recognize audio cds and was as if no cd was even inserted into the drive. The drive was recognized, had a drive letter and even tried every other USB port but nothing worked. I ended up purchasing a different brand which eventually worked for reading audio cds.

For the most part, it works good but it does not want to read discs that are already burned onto a dvd/CD-r disc. My laptop also is not able to pick up the USB half the time and I have to unplug it from the laptop and plug it back in. Some original dvd discs it will not read at all.
