"Sony NP-BX1/M8 Lithium-Ion X Type Battery (Silver)" I have not had these spare batteries but a couple of days. So, I've only had an opportunity to charge them up; but not actually put them to any use. But, FOR MY MONEY, what I CAN SAY, is that they cost like the dickens! So for $49.00, they better charge up quickly and last a long time! The promotional details for these batteries claim that you can "Stay powered up for a long time with the NP-BX1 LITHIUM-ION X Type battery" " Extra power Spare LITHIUM-ION X Type batteries for your DSC-RX100 camera." So, because they bear the Sony branding; and I have paid dearly for them, I literally have to trust them. If they in any way disappoint or fail to meet my expectations, you'd better believe I'll revisit this review to tell you all about it. I will also repeat what another reviewer stated, that in my experience, I have found that branded items seem to work better, and be better quality that non-branded ones. So, drawing from that experience, I expect these batteries to last a very long time. What I will also say is that I own a Sony HandyCam that I've had since 2000, which I purchased right here on Amazon. And 6 years later, both my Sony HandyCam and the one Sony branded NP-BX1/M8 Lithium-Ion X type battery that came with it, has lasted this whole time without incident. So, I hope the performance of my original battery will justify my recent purchase of these two additional batteries. Bought these for my Sony ZV-1, they work amazing although the battery life is a bit short, 1 to 2 hours of continuous shooting, but if you have multiple then you're good to go. Also the size is really small so they can fit anywhere comfortably, and have a great value.

One thing I've learned over the years is that you get what you pay for. Although most brand specific items are a bit pricier on one hand, I've rarely had issues when it came down to where the rubber meets the road. Photography is a passion and I used to use "other brands" to save money. Well... it's a 50/50 shot as to what the ultimate satisfaction will be. This battery is an extra, to have ready when I need it. As with other Sony batteries, I've only had one, in the past 8 years that's had an issue. It turned out to be a crooked contact within the top cap. Amazon sold it direct and I had a replacement within a day and half, sending the other back through an easy and simple process, dropping it off with UPS. Done deal. Yes... it's a little more than most, but I still have many of the spares after all these years and have never had an issue with charging, sudden or dramatically shortened use cycles, or someone passing off a fake that looks like the genuine Sony product. I've stated many times in other reviews that buying an items that's directly from Amazon or Amazon playing the intermediate, has proven the way the go. Mind you, there've been rare occasions I've purchased from "other" sellers and the inevitable happened a couple times. Read everything and save a copy of the actual description page for that seller. Trust me... it usually will turn out in your favor, as it should. But, back to this item, you can't go wrong and it's been used in my Cybershot camera's with no signs of degradation after using and charging at least 3 complete kill/charge cycles a week sometimes. They get used in the DSC-HX50V and the DSC-RX100 v1, which I bought recently and will review. All I can really say is that it's the perfect battery for both of those cameras. Paying a little more in the beginning has given peace of mind that they'll work when I need them to and they'll last a good while before needing replacement. It all comes down to the usage patterns.

I know the ate some bundles of good batteries for cameras. But I just rather have a few ones instead of the original 🔥🔥

Surprising weak battery. Doesn’t hold a charge for very long. Maybe it’s the small size.

I have used Wasabi batteries previously, but when I upgraded to a Sony RX100 VII I found that Wasabi quality had deteriorated. Luckily the Amazon Warehouse had two nearly new "Sony NP-BX1/M8 Lithium-Ion X Type Batteries" for a very reasonable price when compared to the OEM batteries. These work extremely well and last far longer than the off brands. While I prefer the lower price of the generic batteries, I have decided their shorter life is not worth risking missing photos because they lost power rapidly during a shoot.

It’s a battery, what can I say?! As described, keeps its charge for a reasonable amount of time.
