Great hole punch except for one problem
Great hole punch except for one problem. There is no guide to align the paper. If you plan to put your punched paper into a binder the pages won't align with each other. Good punches usually have a moveable guide that you can move up and down so all hole punches are property aligned. A 'work around' for this punch is slightly fold your paper you are about to punch with a crease at the half-way point on the edge you will be putting into the punch. Align the crease with the center black guide, then punch. All you sheets will be identically punched.

Last hole punch you will need
Take the punch out of the box, remove two clips that hold down the lever for shipping and you are ready to go. Punches holes with minimal effort and looks great. The holes are cleanly cut and there is a paper alignment on one end so every time you punch the holes will be in the same place. I like having papers in my binder line up so this is a big plus. Also comes with a lifetime warranty so no need to ever purchase another punch.

Nice Hole Puncher
The hole puncher was confusing at first. It turns out you have to push paper to the left, which has a small edge to place it against. So, that centers the paper to punch holes in it.

No alignment capabilities
There isn't a guide on this when punching pages; so it's very easy, over time, to have misaligned pages in a binder. I wish I had bought a more expensive version with an alignment setting.

Don't waste your money - unusable junk!
Arrived with the silver top not being attached to the rest of the hole punch, and with a single small piece of plastic floating in the box. I think I attached the silver top properly, but then I wound up with a second small piece of plastic matching the first one. Couldn't figure out where they fit. Worst of all, the hole punches are in odd locations that differ from every other 3-hole piece of paper I own and anything punched with the Bostitch just won't fit well into the average (i.e., Amazon basics) three ring binder. The top one was too close to the top edge of the paper, the bottom hole too far away. Sadly, this is going in the garbage. UPDATE: Amazon provided an instantaneous refund without me having to bother with product return. 5 STARS FOR AMAZON and their customer service.

Almost Returned it. Think I figured it out though lol
This is my 1st time purchasing a tabletop 3 hole punch. I used to just reserve my hole punches till I was on campus. With the current crisis, we can gather as to why I eventually had no choice. That being said, that explains my frustration with my inexperience. I knew there was no guide/ protruding tab for the paper but I at least thought that the ending punches would be proportional to the length of the unit. Let's just say my first couple of tries were devastating and I was furious! I came back here to try and find advice and that's when I read reviews and questions that there is no alignment, no guide, and it set in that the ending punches are not proportional to both sides. That made me even more upset. I was ready to RETURN this piece of junk. Well, I finally resolved this for my own behalf so if you're going thru the same thing, fear not!How to align paper (letter size):With the hole punch positioned perpendicular to your body, place in such a way that the "B" in the top lettering of "BOSTITCH" is closest to you. Slide paper into the appropriate compartment from the right side of the unit ( do the opposite if left-handed?). Now, this is where you will notice a subtle raised plastic where the paper bottom of the paper should rest, closest to the letter "B" side of the hole punch. (You wont find it on the other side) THIS IS YOUR GUIDE! Make sure both sides of the back of the paper are fully inserted and give it a go! Presto! Saved myself some trouble. Phew! I hope that helped.

No paper stop to align holes from page to page
This is really a heavy duty punch for the money. I don't care for it because there is no paper stop so the holes in pages from one punch do not align with the next pages punched. If that doesn't matter, this may very well be the paper punch for you. I purchased a different paper punch. Not worth the hassle and $ to return.

Great leverage
Works great! You're limited to pretty small stacks of paper, but that's to be expected. There's plenty of leverage, so even with my tendonitis I don't find it difficult to cut through paper. The holding compartment is pretty easy to take off; just make sure you're careful so you don't flip paper bits all over the place.

Makes 3 holes, what more do you want
Works well, insert pages, press down with some force, and viola, 3 holes. I use this for occasional work, only have to punch holes in a few sheets at a time, probably attempted about 8-10 at most and it gets the job done. The opening is not very wide, it would be a challenge to fit the claimed 12 pages in. Definitely will NOT exceed the 12 pages so if you're thinking you can just add some muscle power and use it for 15-20, the pages will physically not fit. Some of the other reviews complained about page alignment, I had no issues. There is definitely a page stop to push the sheets against so you get consistent results.Pros:- Works well- Solid build quality, has a nice weight to itCons:- Not for large batch amounts

Works Great
Economic option for a basic hole punch. Solid, sturdy, consistent. Yes it does have a lip on the left edge to align the paper.
