Kodiak Furniture Phoenix Futon with Linen Fabric Mattress in Barbados/Brown

Purchased for our office/guest room. We sit on it frequently, and my mother with a bad back says it is nice and firm (in a good way) for her to sleep on when she visits. It arrived in 3 separate heavy boxes. It took 2 people a few hours to assemble. Being lightweight it moves easily (whether you want it to or not), which has caused the corners of the back to dig into the wall. One of the little "button" clips turned side ways and disappeared inside the mattress. It is a bit clunky to fold down, and impossible to fold up without a 2nd person to assist. The biggest frustration is that the mattress does not crease nicely and starts to slide off slightly when upright. For this much money and all the comparison shopping we did - I had really hoped to not have this many complaints. I do love the side tables that fold down though.

This product was easy to assemble. The mattress is thick and comfortable. The frame looks really nice.

This Futon is Awesome! You cannot put it together wrong unless you’re trying and it is comfortable and not at all flimsy.

If you plan on doing anything that requires a lot of um... movement on it... It will creek... loud🙈. Its still pretty comfy for sleeping and lounging. My packaging was covered in this weird sticky brown stuff.

Instructions are very vague but common sense will get you through it. Hour and a half assembly

This piece lasted about 2 weeks. Very lightly built. The forward long pieces of both the bed platform and the main frame gave way. The bed frame failed right at some weird joint in the middle (I guess trees don't grow to 72" tall in Indonesia?) and beneath the janky veneer you could see a nice fat knothole in the very, very thin main frame where it broke. Shattered really. This giant piece of timber measures out as 2.675" x <1" x 72" minus aforementioned janky veneer. Calls to customer service go directly to Ernesto's voice mail even during business hours. Call you back?! Right... Steer clear of this one folks, unless you need expensive kindling.****Update****When I finally reached a live person on the phone, the man was very helpful and after a few questions were sorted out - sent replacement parts very swiftly.Still and all - everyone has been (will be) briefed to sit very gingerly and towards the ends. I would not expect to seat 3 adults on it, nor would I plan to leave it in my will.

Would like to see this thicker and more HD on the ends. Don't think this will hold up for very long.
