characters and issues and...characters
Don't disappear, Tom Wells. Theatre needs you!Not seen a production of this play but it reads well and great to have 21st century theatre where angst is not driving the narrative and it appears that there are characters who actually like each other and what they do....Clearly conflict is a great driver of any story and there is conflict here but Wells' writing style and ear for dialogue drives this tale along very well towards its conclusion. There are issues here, but it is not an issue-driven play, it is definitely a character-driven piece and that's what appeals about it...

Beautiful play
I'm writing a play for my final project at university and my tutor told me to read The Kitchen Sink by Tom Wells. So I did and it was alright. So I thought I'd give this one a try and I absolutely adored it.Tom Wells captures the feeling of falling in love and all the hurt and chaos that comes with it so beautifully and I just adored that.Luke's monologue at the end is without a doubt my favourite monologue that I've ever read. I'm genuinely an emotional wreck right now.Yeah, I'd honestly recommend this play to anyone who has ever harboured any notions about writing about love or life. Hope my play turns out this good.

Touching and heart warming
Just picked this play up, started reading it and couldn't put it down. The characters are wonderfully real, the situation is simple and engrossing and the ending brings a tear to your eyes. Overall all it's one of those simple but profound love stories that leaves you feeling uplifted and enchanted.
