I bought this for my weekly coffee fix. Unlike other models I have used, you cannot fill this up all the way. There is also an issue with the coffee/tea grounds rising up as water is added. If you fill it up your coffee gets grounds in it that you then have to strain.

This product requires a careful routine to use properly. Any mistake will result in disaster ranging from “grainy coffee” to “completely destroyed and unusable product.”You have to insert the basket full of grounds before you add water, add the water slowly until only 3/4 full, and mix the grounds carefully after a few hours to make sure they are submerged. For this task you must use something long and thin without curve or you risk scooping the grounds into your coffee. (My tool was a narrow butter knife.) Then you have to let the grounds steep for at least 12 hours to get any kind of flavor in your coffee. Keep the pitcher totally upright without leaning it or it will dump grounds into your coffee. Carefully take out the basket after steeping, then return the cap to its place. Pray to your god that you have a shelf in your refrigerator that forts the pitcher without requiring you to tip it to get in. Always be gentle with your pitcher and never put it in the dish washer.All that said, the large part with the handle spontaneously broke seemingly without reason and I can’t screw it onto the cylinder anymore. So you can do absolutely everything right and this product still probably won’t last you 3 months.

This works well I gave it to a family member and they use it all the time. It was just too tall for my fridge but I’m glad they like it

Cold-brewed coffee is probably delicious however it’s made and this certainly makes delicious coffee, but I really like the pitcher’s thoughtful design. While tall, it fits well in a refrigerator door rack. After the coffee is brewed and the filter and grounds are removed, the pitcher’s stopper provides a tight seal to keep the coffee well for weeks. When you open it to pour, a detent position in the stopper let’s you know it is open; turn further to remove the stopper completely to access the filter. The pitcher is clear and resilient— it looks pretty much unbreakable. It’s very smooth and cleans easily. Everything comes apart and can be thoroughly and easily cleaned. When put together again, whether brewing or being poured from, it doesn’t leak. It also makes a larger volume of coffee than most cold brew pitchers (but you can make less if you want).In summary, I think this product is great! I don’t normally write product reviews, but felt moved to do so by how much I really like this thing!PS: A very coarse grind and longer brew times works well. I grind my beans at the grinder's coarsest setting. I get very few fines in the carafe and what there is settles in a day. I can then pour carefully and they stay on the bottom.

Purchased as a gift and they love it. Very convenient and easy to use.

Have been using this for about a month now and am quite happy with it. I love that it is dishwasher safe, and that it comes completely apart to clean but is easy to reassemble. It does take a lot of coffee grounds, but it makes a lot of coffee! I generally try to let mine brew in the fridge for 18 hours, but I have drunk it after 12 hours with no complaints. I’m certainly no coffee connoisseur but my cold brew comes out with good flavour and good strength. I only wish the mesh part had something to keep the coffee grounds submerged while it brews, but other than that I am very happy with this product.

This cold brew carafe arrived, but we could not remove the brew filter in order to use it. The instructions said a simple turn to the left should work but it did not. I went to return or exchange it, but Amazon US offered no return - fine for an item you don't like, but not for an unusable one. Most disappointed.

This product is easy to use. In response to people who had a hard time opening the lid/removing the filter, just twist a little harder - there's some initial resistance, and that's normal, so push against it and your lid/filter will remove easily.Regarding the taste of the cold brew, prior to purchasing this I used to mix my coffee grounds directly into my water, steep overnight for 12 hours, then filter with cheesecloth. The result was a smooth, strong brew. I bought this container because I was tired of washing my cheesecloth and wanted something easier. I made my first batch of cold brew overnight last night, and was disappointed in how weak the resulting brew was. I'm assuming this is because the grounds are not mixed directly with the water. I'm going to leave the grounds in for another 12 hours to see if this strengthens up the brew at all. If not, I'll likely go back to mixing my grounds directly in my water and will use this pitcher simply to filter my coffee instead of using the cheesecloth.TLDR: steep your cold brew for the full 24 hours if you like a stronger brew because 12 hours will be too weak.UPDATE: I've since amended my rating to 5 stars. This pitcher does brew a beautiful cold brew; it simply takes longer than methods I've used in the past. After letting my coffee steep for an additional 12 hours (for a total of 24), I was rewarded with a deep, rich brew like I'm used to. If you're looking for something stronger and disappointed by the brew after 12 hours, double your steep time!

The product does exactly what it claims! Coffee comes out great and clean up is a breeze! And very easy to make! Until i had this, my cold brew process took way longer and was very messy! This product solved both those issues elegantly!

It's so great having a cold brew at home and easy to use !!
