Worked as expected
I purchased this to replace a remote that is no longer available for my Yamaha AV system. I inserted new batteries (no batteries included) and the remote worked immediately. No need to do anything to sync with my receiver. I would buy this again if needed.

Doesn't work with Yamaha HTR-5850
Bought this to use with my Yamaha HTR-5850 but unfortunately didn't work. Looks and felt like good quality though. My original remote was RAV254, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

Not fully compatible with all receivers
This is a good remote replacement with a reasonable build for the price ... If it works. Unfortunately for me it didn't. I bought this to pair it with yamaha HTR-6030 receiver. While most of the keys on the remote work, the most important one for me, which is the button to access the receiver setup menu, didn't.

It works with HTR 5890 receiver, most of the functions works, first time using this receceiver/ remote so will learn how to use it

Some of the button functions did not allow me to change some of the settings on my receiver, but overall I'm satisfied with what I can do. A decent replacement remote....

Only some buttons work, cannot be programmed
Some of the controls work for the receiver itself, most don't. Volume, power, some inputs. It is not a replacement for the OEM, you can't program it like the OEM ones for your TV. Half the buttons on the thing are useless.Programming definitely doesn't work the OEM way, and if there's another way it's not mentioned.

Worked great on my old Yamaha reciever
My Yamaha receiver of like 15 years had the controller got out and figured I would have to use my son to turn volume up....joking. But this worked great with no issues and so glad I found.
