I have heavy hair and these are easy and effective to hold it in place. I also appreciate the vinyl coating to help keep hair from breaking.

They are bigger size, they can hold my thick hair well. I like the brown and black color too. They look very Generous on my black hair.

I knew these would be much larger than my usual but thought they might be useful for holding thicker sections of hair when coloring or cutting. Now I’m not so sure, having tried them just to keep my hair off my face. My hair is fine. Most women know what this means; it’s very thin; not the worst hair condition, but decidedly unhelpful when trying to control it. These new clips slide around my hair at the slightest touch.The main reason I was looking for multipack grip clips is that those I currently use are too expensive for my bad habit of losing them. My thinking was that if I have several dozen cheaper clips, the waste of losing them won’t upset me so much. These did claim to be no slip clips, but I should have looked more closely. They don’t have the grippy material (rubber or silicone?) that grabs the hair, nor the comb-like undersides of my current clips. Still, I will probably keep them. If not for hair, they could be useful for sewing and crafts, where they might tightly hold more substantial materials like fabric. Quilters use clips just like these, but call them "snap on clips" or "binding clips."I can’t recommend these for anyone with fine hair, but it’s only fair to suggest that people with thicker hair might have better luck. Possibly more hair = tighter grip?Sorry, I’d like to give you a link to the clips that work well with my fine hair, but apparently it was not allowed under amazon’s community guidelines, even if it's an amazon link. I ordered these because the ones that I have are just too small. I don’t have really thick hair but I have a lot of it, and when I wear my hair up, I use three of these… One on each side and one at the nape of my neck to hold up the little pieces that escape. I’m not crazy about the black as I have blonde hair, but I can always took a black one out of sight and it still does a good job. These are not meant to hold a lot of hair— they are basically snapping barrettes that pretty much stay in place. They work well, I may order more, and I would recommend!
