Samlex SAM-1500-12 SAM Series Modified Sine Wave Inverter - 1500 Watt

I selected this particular inverter because I wanted a 1500 Wt inverter and this SAM met my criteria. Not only is this a quality piece of equiptment it offered a remote control, which made this a hands down choice for me.I mounted the SAM in the front FWD part of my 5th wheel's basment, near two 12 volt batteries, in line with a 50Amp fuse using #2 battery cable wiring. Welding cables would have been a better choice because of their flexabality.Because I wanted to control the inverter from the Master bedroom I had to lengthen the supplied remote control cable. I was able to run the remote cable and power cable up inside of the bedroom wall next to the counter where the TV and satellite tuner were pluged in. To meet code I ran 19ft of outdoor insulated #12 electrical cable between the inverter and the wall plugs. This turned out to be a sweet set up, being able to turn the inverter ON/Off with out having to get up and go outside in addition to isolating the inverter fan sounds, made it all worth while.We were camp host this summer in a park that didn't have power and required generators to be shut off after 10:PM. Our satellite connection reqired running a tuner along with the TV. This drew more then 10% of the inverters output and caused the cooling fan on the inverter to run. Because of this load, we were only able to Watch Satellite TV for 1.75 hrs before battery voltage dropped below 11.6 volts, which shuts the inverter off.However latter when we were dry camped where we could pick up public TV and didn't run the satellite tuner and inverter fan, we watched TV for 4 hrs and more with out a shut off.The Samlex 1500 Inveter provided clean power with no noise in our digital 32 inch TV and preformed as advertised. When I called the company prior to installation I was connected to an engineer who answered my questions and took the time to make sure I under stood what he told me. The unit works just fine, just make sure it is powerful enough for your use. Watts mount up after a while. Make sure you calculate your total usage and you will be good to go. Good unit for the price. Buy the remote control with it as you will likely be putting the inverter in a place where it won't be seen and the controller where it will be seen. Very good product.

Used in my travel trailer, so far works awesome. I got the remote power switch which is pretty neat too.

nice compact unit, quiet, performs for us, runs microwave, use in our RV connected directly to house batteries for better power.

The product never worked right, it only would run a crockpot that was 200 watts. The seller took care of us and gave a full refund.
