Impressively grippy! A nice upgrade for my Trek
The stock Bontrager XR1 tires that came with my Trek Marlin were starting to look awfully worn, so it was time for a replacement / upgrade.SPECSThe Vittoria Mota 19" x 2.35" tire weighs in at 2.3 lbs (1.05 kg). That's just a bit heavier than the 2.2" tires they replaced, but overall still perfectly reasonable.INSTALLATIONThe new tires slipped on pretty easily. I did use tire levers, but only for pulling the last part of the bead into the wheel. Overall, it was quick and painless.PERFORMANCEI still need to put this tire through its paces a bit more, but my initial impression is that this thing is a grippy beast! It's not necessarily the smoothest ride on asphalt, but that's really not what it's for. The big, well-spaced lugs do a fantastic job of keeping you stable on rocks and roots. I haven't yet ridden in through muddy conditions, but based on the tread, I expect that's where these tires will really shine. If you're looking for a chunky tire that will power through rough and sloppy terrain, the Mota seems like a super strong contender. If I run into any issues with this tire in the near future, I'll be sure to update here.

Doesn’t perform as described. It’s unsafe in mud/wet
Be careful not safe on wet/ mud. Why not make the tire true to size 235 it’s not even a 215 it’s way off. Last time I buy Vittorias.

Great so far
This tire is a huge improvement over my worn out Kenda. I ride mostly in loose sand and gravel conditions which are admittedly not the strong suit for this tire. It's doing really well for me, better than my old tires so I'm happy. I tend to try and avoid mud but I'm sure I'll see better grip when avoidance is impossible.

Vittoria are the best
Mounted on carbon and ran hard on my Kenevo SL. Track like glue and last longer than other brands. No disappointment.

Great rear tire
I've only had three or four rides on this tire so far so I can't speak to the longevity-durability but I can say that it has soaked up everything that I've thrown at it. Roots, rocks, mud, loose, and even some hard pack - this tire seems to do it all. It may be a bit aggressive for a front tire in the conditions/terrain that I ride in so I may look into swapping my front for something that has some more bite. I think it's an awesome rear tire though. It certainly looks the part. I was concerned at first it would come off as an enduro tire but the size of the nubs aren't as massive as they appear in the photos so not only do they play the part, they look the part as well. Really dig the grey sidewalls too. It's a nice separation from the black rims and black tread, especially on my all matte black frame. It may be a bit aggressive as a front tire so I'll be swapping my front for something that has some more bite. I think it's an awesome rear tire though.Mounting up the tire was a bit of a challange but no more so than other tubeless-ready tires. I'm running Orange Seal and so far, no problems. It did burp once on a big landing impact but it sorted itself and all is good.I'll be sure to report back if my opinions change but sure glad I picked these up.
