Fast and Easy Upgrade
We have a home built in the early 90s and all of our cabinets have Grass 830-38 hinges.I was dreading the project of replacing 44 hinges in my kitchen. Luckily, the hinges fit prefectly and I only had to drill the 2 holes to attach it to the door. Use a 7/64 in. self-centering drill bit and use a straight edge long enough square up both hinges before drilling.I ended up activating only one of the two hinges for each door. They close perfectly, and if the slow close feature starts to wear out, I can switch on the other.Worth every penny and I should have done it sooner!

Work great but count was off
I ordered a pack of 15, misunderstanding that it was 15 hinges total, not 15 pairs. It came with 15 hinges but only enough screws for 14.The hinges themselves work great, but now I need to order more and will be stuck with one random hinge.I recommend this item but recommend ordering in even numbered packs...

Perfect replacement for 30 year old Blum 1/2" Overlay Hinges (not soft close)
Our 30 yr old cabinets started not opening and closing properly and it was obvious the old Blum hinges were breaking down. They are mostly nickeled metal but have plastic inserts for the rotation range. You have to be really careful selecting the hinges that mount the same way as your existing ones. Some screw onto the face (exterior side) of the cupboard frame, and others like these screw onto the inside edge of the frame.I was a bit anxious whether the hinge to edge distances were correct or not but these are perfectly compatible with the non-Blumotion (soft close) version of the Blum 1/2' Overlay. I removed the olde hinges, screwed these onto the doors using the exact same two screw holes. However, the old hinges had two screws securing hinge to the cabinet frame and this model uses one large screw. So I carefully measured each set of two holes on the fram and drilled another 1/8" hole exactly between them. Oddly some of the old hinges had two holes 1-1/2" apart and others at 1-3/8" apart. But regardless, by centering the new drill hole in the center between the old holes the hinges went on perfectly. Measure every hinge and mark accordingly to be sure. Best to use a ruler that has marked increments down to 1/16".It is easiest to do this with a helper to have the door held while the hinge screws are driven into the cabinet frame (attaching door to frame). Work together to remove doors (we did one or two at a time), then one person can be removing old hinges and attaching new hinges to the door while the other person is measuring and drilling the new holes on the cabinet frame. Then both can work together to hold the door steady and attach the hinges to cabinet frame. The hinges have small adjustments for (A) moving the door away from the frame and also (B) away from the hinge. I did not need either adjust for single doors. But for doors that close together (doubles) I had to back the screw towards the middle of the hinge all the way out usually to allow to the doors to close together without binding. I suspect older doors have swelled a bit and may have banged loose a bit so need more room to close properly. The hinge attaches to the frame with slotted holes and one screw so there can be some adjustment up and down as well for matching heights of double doors. These hinges work really well. You can give the door a good push to close and it slows down and then very gently oozes to a close. One warning though. When opening to 90* they kind of spring open further to the full 105*. So if the door opens into a corner it will bang loudly against the opposing door/wall. In this case be sure to get the Blum COMPACT hinge restrictors (about five dollars per 20 or so) for each hinge. The restrictors only allow the hinge to open to 87* which still allows full access to the cupboard but absolutely will not bang into corner cabinet or wall. These soft close hinges have a made a huge difference for us. No more banging cabinet/cupboard doors! Saves wear and tear on the cabinet doors and so quiet. I will suggest that if you need to replace only a couple of worn out door's hinges, to consider upgrading ALL your cabinet doors in that area with the same type of hinge. We just upgraded the broken hinges/doors but then we got used to giving them a good push to close and when it turns out to be one of the doors with older style hinges they go BANG. Now I have all the door hinges upgrade to these Blumotion soft close style and the kitchen so much quieter and I don't cringe hearing bangs and thinking what damage is eventually done to the door.

Nice Hinge Small Adjustment Range
Using these for simple rectangular Shaker cabinet doors. They work very well and are very well constructed. Very reasonably priced with reasonably fast shipping.Cons: Require very precise placement on cabinet frame. The hinges have very small stops which require precise placement on the inside cabinet frame. If the cabinet frame has slightly rounded corners this placement becomes somewhat tedious since being off even a sixteenth or more can result in a door not having enough adjustment in or out to open/close without rubbing the cabinet frame. The hinges have only one screw holding them to the frame so once screwed in it is difficult to reposition since the holes are then too close together. There is also very little adjustment up or down, approximately the width of the screw itself. More expensive hinges have a great deal more adjustment in and out and up and down which makes it much easier to get a perfect fit. They usually use two screws for attachment which is much better. Unfortunately they cost two or three times as much as these hinges. This is even more important if the cabinet frame or door frame is not absolutely straight. I am working with cheap materials for garage cabinets so the problem’s mentioned here are amplified. To be fair if you are skilled at cabinet making and using good materials you will most likely be fine. I have managed to get acceptable results but at the cost of a great deal of time. These are concealed type hinges and require precise cutouts for the hinge to be installed on the inside of the cabinet doors. The inexpensive Kreg concealed jig kit cuts the exact size cutout and includes the adjustable jig itself which allows easy placement of the cutouts from 3mm and greater from the edge of the cabinet door. It also provides exact placement of the pilot holes to fasten the hinge to the door. If cost is important and time is not a huge concern these hinges will get the job done but be prepared to spend extra time with placement/adjustment and possibly a do over or two. If I were building nice kitchen cabinets and using birch or other quality material for frames I would definitely buy the more expensive hinges. Heck, if money was no object I would even buy them for my project but since I will be installing 75-80 hinges total the cost adds up. BTW on my last order of these hinges I was shorted about fifteen screws. No big deal but the seller didn’t send the missing screws. Blum representative I contacted through the Amazon system said their hinges are being bought in bulk and repackaged by third party sellers on Amazon who are responsible for fulfilling any missing items. 2-3 bucks at most for the screws so no big deal.

Soft close effective!
Not sure if it was our cabinets or the screws that were provided but it was really hard to put into place which is why I gave it at four instead of five stars because like I said, I’m not sure if it was the cabinets or if it was the machinery, but it does work great soft, close, no more slamming!

Don't use the screws
The hinges are great. Soft close works well. My only gripe was the included screws. Snapped the head off of multiple screws after pre-drilling and hand tightening. Do your self a favor and buy better screws.

A bit expensive
They are as good as some less expensive similar hinges.I ordered just one, because the other ones came in packs of 10 or 25.Paid twice more than the other brands.

Easiest hinge on the market to install.
Perfect, adjustable, and buying a large quantity gets you a great price.
