Great unique way to learn!
Mastering Lighting, by Nick Saglimbeni, teaches lighting techniques in a a way I’ve never seen before. I have learned a lot as a photo assistant in my career working for different photographers and studying their lighting. This DVD puts you in the shoes of an assistant on a real set where you are working with the photographer to figure out what lighting will work best. I’m not sure if I want to let the secret out on how Nick does this but I will say it is very unique and has not been done before in the photo industry. You get to see the whole shoot from start to finish and it really feels like you are there making the lighting decisions. Nick shows multiple ways of accomplishing good lighting on a small or large budget in different scenarios. I think any serious photographer at any stage of his or her career will learn something from this tutorial. I know I did and walked away with plenty of new tricks to try out on my next shoot.

BEST OF CLASS
After learning from Nick's great series on retouching and compositing, I was really looking forward to this DVD and it's as good as I'd hoped. Here, Nick takes us on the set of real fashion shoots in interesting and challenging locations and walks us through the important artistic and technical elements as he plans and sets up and shoots. I really like the behind-the-scenes plus voice-over teaching method here and the 3D animations (by award-winning Hollywood previz artist Raffael Dickreuter) are very effective in conveying the sense of the space, perspective and angles. Compared to most other courses where the instructor is presenting to a class as the camera rolls, the content and production values are the highest I've seen. Definitely best of class. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Incredible!
Mastering Lighting for me was incredible!Nick's ability to teach in fine detail is really helpful. As a photographer i have seen many many lighting tutorials but none of them compare to Nick Saglimbeni's Mastering Lighting. This tutorial covers a whole lot of content that many tutorials don't. It gives you insights and tips on planning shoots, building the right team, how to scout locations and how to set up your lighting. I would recommend this to any photographer amateur or pro! Thanks Nick!Another amazing product!
