I debated whether or not to spend the extra money on these or to just install the rail on the outside of the posts. I am SO GLAD I went with these. Absolutely worth the added cost.They allow you to install the rail BETWEEN posts, rather than flush mount on the outside. A much cleaner look, imo. And depending on the angles you have, it might be necessary.They are made of high quality plastic that will never corrode or break. You would have a hard time breaking these if you tried. The included screws are nice as well.They are easy to install and provide a VERY solid installation of the railing that will never come apart. I would argue that these may actually be more secure than an outside rail mount. You do have to cut the rails precisely, though.If you are installing black ballusters as I did, these will actually make your railing installation look nicer, overall, rather than being an eyesore. My wife and I are both really happy with these and glad we spent the money on them.

I really like the railing connectors overall; however, the screws used to attach the connectors would not be my first choice. The color scheme was good but the square headed screws did not drive into the wood very well. As a matter of fact, I kept having problems with them trying to "strip out" when inserted. As an alternative, I found an exterior deck screw in black that could be used to solve the problem I was having with the shipped screws. Also, the head on the replacement screws used a special bit (provided) that would not slip when inserting.

These are highly recommended if you are looking for a simple, effective, and professional looking rail connection. There are several complaints about the square screw head but they really won't present a problem if you use the right bit.

I have ordered a total of 6 of these now. They look good. They do the job and are easy to install. I have had lots of comments on how good they look on my deck stairs. At least for me, way better than toenailing and hoping I get the nails or screws all the way in.

These connectors are heavy duty and should last a long time. The price was very good. $18.95 for 5 and free shipping. Much better than previous ones I have purchased at Menards.

Highly recommend! These made building our deck so much easier. Very simple to use and install. Comes with Roberson (square) screws.
