George Peck's Crystal Reports, Professional Results is the definitive reference for CR.
George Peck is THE expert on Crystal Reports. Having attended a number of conferences he has presented at, a bootcamp that he and a number of his fellow CRers ran, I can honestly say that if you can't find it in this book, then you are probably asking the wrong question. George, asside from being a great guy, is a true expert on Crystal Reports. It is unfortunate that Business Objects essentially stopped all real development of Crystal Reports after they acquired Crystal Decisions. They are more focused into driving you into higher cost offerings in thier Business Objects product stack. Now, that said, if you have a love-hate relationship with Crystal Reports as most of us do who have been with the product from it's early days with Crystal Decisions, you owe it to yourself to look into Microsoft Reporting Services. While MSR is a relatively new product, it has been powerfully integrated into the MSSQL product stack and has been an excellent and very productive and reliable reporting solution, especially in the MS world.

Very helpful!
While I must agree with some of the reviews here saying that this is only 200 pages of the actual 'useful' part of the book, I also must say that those first 200 pages are very much helpful! Now, the second half of the book is of great help if you need a good Formula Reference, which is not that easy to find in some other books (except in the author's other book, Crystal Reports 2008). Why I gave this book 5 stars is because it is written in a plain, simple language, easy to follow, without all the technical jargon that most other books are full of. All I want is some practical advice, whether I apply it to my work, or for my cert. exam, which I've been preparing for. Get this book if you are a beginner, or if you are a pro, as you'd be surprised to learn how easy it is to achieve some results once someone shows you how to. And that's exactly what this book is about. Within a page or two you will learn about each trick. Easy to follow, understand, and keep focused on.

Crystal Reports Professional Results
I would have given this a 5 star rating but while it gives you some great tips, it's still not as advanced as I would have liked. If you are not a beginner but not an out and out expert, then you will like this book as it gives you some good tips but also food for thought to spur your own ideas. If you are beyond intermediate and nearer Advanced, you will get some tips that make you say - "Mmm, that's quite a good idea", but it's not going to give you the extra "Wow,that's a great idea".
