Reboots my cable modem automatically!
I got this to automatically reboot my cable modem and router if my home internet quit working. It works great and I was able to set it up to also notify me when it things go offline and again once restored. I configured it so that on loss of internet, it would give a couple minutes of down-time and a couple minutes delay after powering back up to allow things to get booted up before re-checking connectivity. Since I travel for work, this is great for allowing me to be able to still keep an eye on my place and not be blind by a cable modem or router going "stupid" until one would normally have to manually reboot them.I'll also mention that while there might be similar products available, I went with Dataprobe iBoot as I had worked with these many years ago on some commercial projects and knew they were a rock-solid product from those past experiences.

Updated: Replacement unit has been working for 3 months
3/15/2023 Update. After a recent firmware update I lost cloud connectivity. When I contacted support about this issue, they quickly responded with an easy fix. This product has been working flawlessly for almost 10 years of continuous use.4/5/2018 Update. This device has been operating flawlessly for over 4 years. They've even added a remote web interface at no extra cost. I'm bumping my rating to 5 stars and would recommend this to anyone looking for remote power management.2/20/2014 Update. I was contacted directly by Charles, the director of engineering of Dataprobe back in October after they had read this review. I was told the there was a bug in the firmware and the latest release would resolve this issue. He offered to cross ship a new unit once the latest firmware was out of testing. As promised, the new unit shipped in November. I initially thought I had a similar issue, but I identified a problem within my network and the new unit has been up with no issues for the past 3 months.I have revised my review to 4 starts. My only con is that iBoot G2 does not support HTTPS. This was a known limitation and I could not find any units at this price point that support encryption. However, I would hope that Dataprobe is working with a new chipset that can support TLS.I would have no problem rating Dataprobe with 5 stars. They exceeded my expectations with their help resolving this problem.Original Review:The first unit I bought would stop working after about 30 minutes. I bought a replacement and returned the original. I knew there was a problem when I upgraded the firmware and the MAC address changed and ended in 00 00 00. Since this did not cause any issues, I did not bother contacting support. I decided to install the unit since it appeared to work fine. Unfortunately it stopped working after about 30 days. It is still delivering power to the attached NAS, but is no longer visible on the network switch. I haven't contacted support as the unit is remote and I do not have access to it right now.I will revise this review if support can resolve my issue and/or replace the unit. For the price of this unit, I would suggest the buyers look elsewhere.

Doesn't work, they won't return it
Garbage. Can't find it on the network, cannot complete the setup process. Instructions don't work, the DMU doesn't work to find the device on the network. Can't management console into this device. They refuse to return it. Amazon advises they no longer provide returns for this item. This was an over $200 paper weight. Lame

Router Auto Reboot Device
Device installed easily, works as advertised, but I have had issues with the device losing contact with the Cloud Server. Loss of contact seems random but has occurred many times . Not sure what causes the cloud loss but device operates with relation to my router as advertised. It is a well made product

Often unresponsive with slow web interface
Unfortunately the device is often unreliable on the network and the web interface hangs with 30+ second response times. When it works it's great. I think there are better options available for the money.

A bit expensive, but it's a solid product
This works great. You can command it from the simple web interface it has, or use telnet commands if you wanted to automate it with software. It's a little bit pricy, but it seems to be a quality product.

Work Perfectly
Set your computer's bios to boot after power loss and plug the unit in. Once you set the static IP address for the iBoot device you can log in and send a signal remotely to the unit to power on the computer. Amazing!
