This actually is useless
I have NO idea how this product has so many good reviews, I fell for it, I said, if it has so many 5 stars is MUST be good, yet the 1 stars are there and I didn't read them between so many "good" reviews. This product does nothing!1. The ventilator is no more powerful than a PC fan, meaning it will not suck more than dust and by far will not suck an insect, it will not even distort the trajectory of flight! I tested it! I was able to grab a live mosquito placed it in a near the device and watched as the mosquito fly near it and NOTHING HAPPENED!2. Light and bait will attract mosquitos...lies, I left it where all mosquitos gather during the nigh, left it all night on and nothing was caught.3. The slits of the trap are SO big nothing will stay there if it does managed to get trapped, a mosquito and a fruit fly will easily be able to exit, MAYBE a fat fly can remain trap but that fan? it will not suck a fly, like never. Conclusion, I would give it 0 stars if I could not only because it doesn't work but because I was fooled by, seems, paid people, to think it would work

Gets those nasty gnats!!!
Works great and love the interesting design. I have it placed by the back door so that it can catch flying insects before they they get further in the house. It has caught quite a few in just 3 days and I have already noticed a decrease of gnats, fruit flies and flies in the house. I cannot stand gnats and fruit flies. So I am very happy. Thinking of getting a second one to keep by the fruit bowl.

Does not work well with fruit flies.
I realize this product is listed as a mosquito trap, i thought it could work well for fruit flies but unfortunately it didn't catch anything after having it set up in my kitchen for about 3 weeks. Maybe it's just the bait isn't right for fruit flies but it is very easy to use and clean.

Buyer heed my warning
I was very excited to try this. I'm tired of being bitten by mosquitos that sneak into the house at night. I also have a problem with phorid flies (which are twice the size of fruit flies) once in a while because of my guinea pigs. I received this contraption on Saturday 8/22 and it Is now 8/26. But first, let me explain the directions that come with this thing. The product instruction says, and I quote, "The mosquito killer adopts physical catching principle, with low voltage, appearance design patent and structural design patent, it can be easily disassemble & install, cleaning and storage." Then I read the How to use: "1. Open the attracting ball and place the attractant then place the attracting ball on the top of the raised part. Suspend the attracting ball by magnet holding it." I'm totally serious. That's exactly what it says. In my desperation to rid my house of flying pests, I decided to ignore the bad spelling, grammar, and hideous instructions, went back to the Amazon advert picture to see how to put this thing together, and gave it a whirl. I've had it running almost constantly since it was delivered and it hasn't caught a damn thing. It's quiet, has a nifty purple light, has a funky design, but that's all that it has going for it. So, if you want a funky looking thing with a purple light that does absolutely nothing else but glow, go for it; otherwise, save your money and do not buy this thing.

Questionable Quality, Questionable Effectiveness
I got this gadget to deal with fruit flies that had decided to make their home in my place. I eventually found where they were coming from and dealt with them myself, but this thing was not part of that solution. On top of that, after about a month, it stopped turning on completely. It wasn't that the auto-timer had run out or anything like that, it simply stopped turning on. Now it's basically e-waste. That being said, the fan inside was hardly strong enough to suck in dust, let alone a flying creature, even a mosquito.I couldn't see it being effective even if the fruit flies had paid an ounce of attention to the bait. The two flies I saw actually investigate it flew right over the fan and right back out. I gave this thing an ironic 1-star for "easy to clean" because frankly, it never needed cleaning. I'd have preferred it did.

Instructions could be better
I love the idea of this produce but i wish the instructions for setting it up were clear. It doesn't say to remove the silver film on the attractant. I also wish the cord was longer so i can place it by the door. Overall, im verh excited to check out this product!

Didn't Work?
UPDATE: It Just Doesn't Work?! I've left it out running on our deck table overnight, where a bug light typically attracts hordes of nats and little mosquitos. And after a number of night running, NOT ONE SINGLE BUG IN THE TRAP?!!! I'll revise this review if it warrants it. Last night I left it on for hours, on our deck table, where, when we have our Bug Killer light on, MANY MANY small flying insects are attracted. This morning I didn't SEE ONE Bug in the collection chamber?! The Instructions are Poor. How does one Open the Attractant Chamber? Twisting open is very difficult with arthritis ... so they could at least verify that that is what one is suppose to do!

Bye bye fruit flies!
Great product and very effective. I keep a lot of fresh fruits and veggies in baskets on my kitchen counter this device has helped out tremendously with keeping gnats/ fruit flies/ mosquitoes away. It's easy to use and easy to clean. I love the 3/6/12 hour option with auto off setting so I can just set it and forget it. I'm very satisfied with the results and the price. Thanks!
