I bought 2 of these last year and they were hit and miss. I thought something may be wrong with my Illy y3.3. the water just sprays inside the machine and makes a huge mess. I changed the gasket in the machine. I experimented with the grind of the coffee. It had to be really loosely added to the capsule and ground pretty coarse. That made the espresso terrible. There was no way the coffee could be "tamped" and the capsule could work. I decided to buy this little kit thinking maybe it was the 2025 capsule defect. Sure enough The capsules in this kit are just a little different made than the capsule i bought one year ago. These work very well in my Illy. No "blowouts" I did contact the seller to see if they could exchange the 2 capsules that I purchased last year for 2 that actually work and sadly they said NO. best wishes. So if you tried these previously before the modifications and they didn't work well. the latest design is better for sure.

Coffee needs to be packed tight otherwise there is no crema. Allows me to use different coffees with my illy espresso maker.

I love my espresso machine and drink one cappuccino every morning. It’s very convenient but I hated the waste of the plastic capsules. We had this reusable capsules for more than 2 weeks and they performed beautifully. I started with the illy ground coffee but plan on grinding my own in the future. The clean up it’s not as easy as a toss in the garbage but I don’t mind the extra step. You can scrape the coffee and use it for plants or just rinse everything under running water. You might have to play with how much coffee to pack in the capsule and how hard to pack it, but I think it’s part of the process. Highly recommend if you’re conscious about plastic usage and love a fresh espresso

I bought this stainless steel capsule for my very old Illy X1 espresso machine. It works beautifully and the quality of the product is outstanding! It took some trial and error to adjust the setting on my coffee grinder to get the correct grind for a good pour with crema. This is a great replacement for filling the landfill with single use non-biodegradable coffee capsules!

I expected it like espresso but not. I will try it with very fine coffee.

their seems to be a problem tightening the handle when they are being used.
