Includes Roger Craig's 1971 Manuscript
This is the tragic, diabolical story about a guy who saw and heard way too much for his own good concerning the most monumental crime in American history.Roger Craig was a deputy sheriff in Dallas when President Kennedy got killed.Ever since that day there were certain individuals who refused to be lied to for whatever reasons. Some paid the ultimate price for that refusal.Roger Craig was one of those people.Because of his position working in the corrupt Dallas law enforcement establishment Mr. Craig found out about certain things which put his life in mortal danger.Something interesting for me is the great JFK researcher Tom Wilson said whoever posed for the fake photographs of Lee Oswald standing in his backyard with the alleged assassination rifle had a glass eye.Ever since I read that I've been on the lookout for people who had a glass eye and who were connected with the JFK assassination in some way.Well Roger Craig's boss in the sheriff's department, Bill Decker, did indeed have a glass eye.Roger Craig did not trust Decker. However I would have to go back and check on what eye Tom Wilson said was glass for the guy who really posed for those fraudulent Oswald backyard pictures. If it was the same eye as Decker's glass eye maybe it was Decker who provided the figure of Lee Oswald in those pictures.Years later the great Jim Marrs found copies of those backyard pictures in the Dallas police files with the figure of Lee Oswald whited out. There are many important things Roger Craig became aware of about the JFK assassination that I hadn't heard about before reading this book.Roger Craig's life was completely ruined and ultimately ended because he would not back down from all the lies and corruption. All of that stress and actual danger destroyed Roger Craig's wife's health. There were four or five previous attempts on Roger Craig's life before they finally got him.Roger Craig's 1971 manuscript When They Kill A President is included at the end of this book.A Deeper, Darker Truth:Tom Wilson's Journey into the Assassination of John F. Kennedy[Kindle Edition]by Donald T. Phillips

A key piece to the JFK puzzle
This book tells the story of Dallas County detective Roger Craig, a decorated officer whose credibility was never questioned. Right after the assassination, it was Craig who witnessed Lee Harvey Oswald running across Dealey Plaza and jumping into a car which sped away. (Later that day, Craig was asked to come to the Dallas Police Homicide unit to identify their suspect. Craig looked at the man -- Lee Harvey Oswald -- and said that was definitely the man he saw running to the car.). Despite subsequent pressure from the Dallas Police and FBI to change his story, Craig refused to do so. He lost his career as a result, and survived three assassination attempts, until finally losing his life to a fourth. What Craig saw proves that Oswald did not act alone, and had accomplices. In fact, Oswald -- a low-level CIA asset -- never fired a shot. This book is not the best-written book, but it is a detailed and well-documented one, which adds a key piece to the puzzle of the most significant political crime in American history.

Interesting and sad
This book again eye opening accounts of those that were there on the day of the assassination and what they went through. Mr Craig was respected and was providing honest testimony of what he saw heard and what he and his family went through because of his honesty. People went to great lengths to discredit and keep the real account hidden for many years. It cost Mr. Craig multiple jobs and his life after numerous attempts to either shut him up or try to kill him failed. Personally I don't believe he committed suicide just as I don't believe the Warren commission report, the single bullet theory, or that Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole shooter. Most of or almost all the people that knew or had information are now dead. Many of the documents are still sealed. This book is a good read with lots of information.

Interviews
I found the book extremely interesting, as during th course of his story the author had uncovered bits and pieces of information and evidence that when considered in their entirety added up to conclusions that I had reached myself based on much less information. In other words reading this book helped me to strengthen my feelings into a much firmer ability to reach the same conclusions as being those of the truth about what happened in that fateful day of JFK's death! I was saddened to learn of the true hardships suffered by the author and his family simply because he always insisted on being truthful about what he had witnessed, and he still does. To me his hardships lend strong credence to his statements!

Unbelievable
It costs to be a patriot. This guy and his family paid in spades. I doubt I could have stood up to this kind of harrassment. Integrity without force is a tough go in anyone's books. But Roger did it. No wonder more from Dallas never spoke out. Kill a president in front of 400+ witnesses and someone's going to see something that doesn't add up and now we know why: the word was out: go about your business or else. This book is about the "or else". The intimidation is unbelievable. What price truth? You'll find out here.

We sure could learn a lot from information Roger Craig made avaliable.
Former Dallas Deputy Sheriff Roger Dean Craig , now passed on, had so much to say about President Kennedys Assassination and the likely cover up. I have read a lot of his knowledge about this case. I wish he was still living!

7.65 Mauser?
Admiral try but I stopped reading after the 50th time he wrote that the deputy identified the gun as a 7.65 Mauser. Clearly if this is so his testimony on gun identification is worthless. The famous Mauser rife is chambered in 7.92 or is called 8mm.Not so easy to identify the round a rife takes just by looking at it without closer detail. I have a machined Strumgewehr 44. Looks exactly like the original. You would never know chambers a .223, while the original a 8mm short.

Remarkable story
Roger Craig, who I saw in a haunting interview on YouTube, paid a very high price for doing his job and telling the truth. This tears apart the myth you can succeed if you work hard enough. He did, and did nothing beyond tell what he saw. For that people far above his pay grade ruined his life. The man is truly a hero, for no other reason than he refused to bow under and stuck to his beliefs about what was right.

Brilliant
Anyone interested in the Kennedy assassination knows the importance of officer Roger Craig and his testimony. Apart of course from the government who were probably over the moon when he “ACCIDENTALLY” blew his brains before he could be called to testify at the house assassinations committee. This of course after his previous two attempts to “ACCIDENTALLY “ kill himself by getting shot at standing on a street corner and driving his car over a cliff, yes it really is that obvious.Like so many witnesses that “ACCIDENTALLY “ killed themselves Roger managed to get his story on film to Mark Lane which is a must see on YouTube.A fantastic book on about a man who saw it all and refused to go along with all the BS. They hounded him out, lost his job, lost his health, lost his family and lost his life all so the greatest cover up could continue as it does today.Buy it , it’s worth every penny!
