It's a "wow" gift
I got this for my 5 year olds birthday. The good:-It is definitely a wow factor gift. Good for Christmas or a birthday. The Amazon box is different than the walmart box, this one comes completely closed.-There are 12 micro machines included.-There are a lot of different play possibilities. A small car wash, office or parking building that rises and has a slide coming down. A race track where you can race 2 cars once you push a lever. A crane with wrecking ball and a small "construction" area. A volcano with slide inside (his favorite).-There are quite a few pieces to interact with/push/move.-The cars wheels actually move. The bad:-Some of the parts feel a little cheaply made, I hope it will last more than a few months.-The pictures make it look huge, it's a medium sized track when open.-Some of the areas are tiny, like inside the car wash, there is not much to be done, only pass through.-It should be easier to close it all the way.-Some of the areas where you put the stickers are a bit of a pain, like the inside part of a window.-The wrecking crane needs like 4 tries to knock down the "structure" that it's supposed to.Side notes:-Saw a lot of people complaining about assembly but it wasn't that bad. The instructions could be better, but it wasn't hard to figure it out. Once you are familiar with where everything goes, you can build it in 2 minutes.-Yes, you do have to remove some parts to close it. But there are not a lot of removable parts. Basically the wrecking ball crane, 3 slides, the race track sign and all the lamposts. My 5 year old played with it for 1 hour straight as soon as he got it. And was super excited about all the different things he could interact with. He is currently a lego fanatic and is only playing with legos or asking for them. This was a nice change and he actually was really happy with it. Let's hope it has the same replay ability. He got it today so I'll probably update in a few weeks.

Not Like Original
If you are like me, and thought it was like the original...not so much. My son had the original 20 years ago. He was obsessed with micro machines. I bought this for his son. It is definitely entertaining but the quality is not as good. The cars don't go down the ramps, and around the track, like they should. The only instructions are on the box, so don't get rid of it. My grandson does love it and the cars! Mimi did not like the price. I just had a nostalgic moment. It is definitely overpriced.

Grandson loves it
My son had the micro machine van city when he was a kid, so when I saw this I was excited to purchase it for my grandson. Overall it is okay, and he does love it. My only complaints are that it is a lot flimsier than they used to be and the instructions for assembly are printed so poorly and TINY that it was nearly impossible to assemble. They could wholly improve this product by spending a little extra to print normal size instructions.

Grandson loves it!
Our grandson loves this toy and plays with it over and over. We removed some of the smaller parts as his one year old sister might swallow them. He is three and doesn’t put everything in his mouth anymore. He absolutely loves it though it’s probably better to give as a gift to an older child. We keep her away from the table when he’s playing with this toy and supervise him closely. It’s sturdy and has a variety of fun things inside the van as it transforms, unfolds to become a micro city complete with the car wash, race track, bridge, and even a construction zone with a wrecking ball.I have to mention again about the small parts. The little cars are tiny and colorful so they would look good to eat to a one year old.

Awesome toy
I'm giving 5 stars as this is probably the toy my son has been most excited about. At the same time, I agree with what many of the other reviewers have said. Yes, it needs a little bit of disassembling and packing to close it; don't expect it just closes (come on, you knew from the picture that it doesn't close without effort!). However, everything does fit so it's useful to keep all parts together. Yes, the new Micro Machines cars are not as good as the old ones. However, kids now days don't know the old toy so unless your buying this for an adult to play with, it shouldn't matter that the old cars/vehicles were cooler than the new ones. Once again, if I disregard my own opinion and knowledge of my old toys, and base the review on the reaction of my son, it is an awesome toy!

Not as great as the old version
Our 3yr old loves the cars and the variety of car styles is really neat. Some of the car styles were not designed with the playset in mind and vice versa. Comes with a bunch of additional small parts that don't have a nice storage system, which defeats the point of a foldable playset.Quality is way down from the old set; the curvy mountain pass is too narrow for the cars to go down without assistance at multiple points and the carwash slider floor barely moves. Definitely a case where a company has decided to emphasize so-so quantity instead of quality. Pretty disappointed as they had a pretty good example of quality in the old style of this toy.

Tons of play time & great for nostalgia
So much play time. This is a great toy with lots of things to do. Awesome nostalgia too. I would have given it 5 stars but I find it a bit hard to close up properly into a van.
