good for Mom
I had a little trouble setting this up over the phone. I went to my AT&T store and they did it very easily. Mom is 99 years old - so it is in her room at the nursing home. She cannot hear it ring, but when someone gives it to her, her voice is clear and she has no difficulty hearing me. She does not accidently turn down the volume, so that is good. It is better than the flip phone I had for her before, which is why I gave it all 5s. I cannot get to her at this time to hear the volume of the phone on her end as far as the ring tone.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANY SERVICE PROVIDERS!
Save yourself the effort. This phone does not work for any carrier we could find. We bought for my elderly father in law. Went to four different places trying to get it set up...no luck. Seems to be old technology. All four places said SEND THIS POS BACK!

No longer works on modern network
This phone was light weight with a good display and large buttons. Purchased for my father in a care facility. Unfortunately because of upgrades to Cricket wireless, it would not work on their network. After a cricket representative checked the IMEI and told me it would not work, I had to return it.

Gets the job done
The phone is okay. Seems things were a bit loose, I had to shimmy the sim card for it to read as it kept saying none was inserted. Bought a total wireless sim card rest didn't work, after reading the fine print, I realized they are a part of Verizon and therefore can't be used on the phone. Had to go and get an ATT sim card.

Don't buy piece of junk
Would give 0 stars if offered. This is a 3G phone. Advertised to work w AT&T . AT&T no longer services 3G phones. Spent 3 days trying to obtain service for this phone. Finally returned phone as it was useless.Found a similar phone but with 4G through Jethro. Called Jethro and ordered their senior phone. Jethro is a USA company and the representative was here in US. Very nice person who told me no one services 3G anymore. Jethro has its own sim card/service through T-Mobile. The phone comes with the sim card in place. (Other phone had sim card locations under battery and had to take phone apart and then try to figure out which of three sim card slots would work with the three adaptors they gave us for the sim card.)The Jethro phone has 8 memory keys (number keys 2 - 9) that can be programmed for direct dial. It also has volume button on front so senior person won't accidently shut off volume while holding phone. This has been a problem for our senior who is in nursing home and could not figure out how to turn the volume back up, even those she has been shown numerous times.I like the fact that Jethro phone has charging cradle as seniors with limited vision/dexterity have difficulty plugging in a cord charger. An Iphone or Android is too complicated for our senior. Also like that the Jethro phone has no internet capability. Our senior would not know how to use internet and we don't want staff using up internet data while senior is asleep.Best part is the unlimited voice/text throughout US, Mexico & Canada for only $10/month. They also have a $5/month plan for limited usage.

Best Easy Phone for Seniors
My mom is getting up in years and when it's time for her to get a new phone she always wants a phone that's very simple for her to use. I found it in this phone. It's loud ringer and loud volume to hear is a great plus not to mention the large buttons. She mentioned to me that she'd like the the cord that comes with, to hang around your neck so you can carry it. It makes it much easier for her to remember where it's at. I did have a glitch with the original purchase of the phone. But I contacted the company and they contact me right away. They replaced her phone right away. They have excellent customer service and kept in touch with me until my issue was resolved. Now Mama is very happy with her new phone....

Beware: ATT will NOT activate this phone.
Purchased this phone as an inexpensive extra for a line we seldom use. Information provided by the seller indicates it is ATT compatible.I took it to an ATT store and was informed that they will not activate any phone that is not at least 4G.This is a 3G phone.Useless.
