We are a dog people, we love dogs and this story is a story that describes a puppy and their great desire to play, and the love between a boy Henry and the puppydog MudgeIn this short, but right on the money way a dog will act when his master is not paying attention, in this case Henry is reading, but in real life it could be almost anything, a puppy will make sure that the loved family member is reminded that the pup loves you and just wants to be with you.In this story Mudge, when told no, just moves closer and closer to Henry until Mudge is sitting on the book making it impossible for Henry to read the book. This type of behavior happens many many times all over the world.The love of a dog for the little boy in this story and the attention he wants shows just how much dogs love us.Great story, clever, short, easy to read and to the point, Ms. Rylant did a wonderful job.
