Show Up For Yourself is educational, practical, inspiring, digestible, and everything you want in a book if your goal is to grow. Janet speaks in very clear terms that made me feel hopeful as well as understood. I work in the field of counseling and coaching, and I am not ashamed to say that I learned SO much from this book - explanations and information that I continue to impart in others. If you're truly ready to change, this book will serve as your compass. If you're unsure about whether or not you're ready, this book can serve as comfort and reassurance. And if you're not ready to change, but want to educate yourself on the process, this book will give you so many nuggets of wisdom you won't know what to do with them all. In summary, READ THIS BOOK.

Love the concept of showing up for myself!!
I love this book!! This is such a crazy time to be living through and it is easy to lose focus on what matters most. By concentrating on how we show up for ourselves creates an inner peace that we all need right now, at least I know I do!! Being in close quarters with our loved ones brings an awareness of our responses vrs our reactions. What I have learned from this book is to become aware of what triggers me and where it originates from; most likely a younger part of myself that never had a chance to heal or that I was even aware of. Now, I developed an inner sense of why I react so quickly to things that might have gone unchecked and instead, take pause and look at my behavior and what "words my younger self is saying to me". I can counteract that reaction by a more thoughtful and aware response. I know I am grateful for the realization and my family is also happy that I am taking time to know and treat myself with more compassion. Bravo Janet Philbin for taking the time to share your wisdom with us.

Essential guidebook for healing the whole person
This book helped me see how the process of inner healing works. We carry wounds and suppressed emotions from past events of our lives. When we don’t process our pain and grievances, we carry them with us physically and emotionally. I love how this book incorporates information on chakras, how each chakra relates to our psychology, and how we can unblock each chakra. There is also extensive guidance on journaling. If you don’t know where to start with journaling, this book gives clear and manageable steps and guiding prompts on journaling which extremely helped me feel comfortable with journaling. Journaling has become a daily habit for me thanks to Janet’s book. If I had to pick one teaching from this book, it is the importance of feeling our feelings to be able to process life and to move on. Also in every chapter, practical steps and exercises support are presented for every teaching.This book is an invaluable guide on healing and unfolding into the authentic self.

A fast but useful read
While the book is easy to skim, one can wander and linger throughout the pages, focusing on responding to some of the prompts included. While I was familiar with many of the concepts presented, I found it useful to consider them again as I went through the pages. A good book for someone beginning to think of life changing processes.

Just Wonderful!!
This book came out at the perfect time!!! With life at a standstill because of COVID19, all of my daily distractions were removed, opening up the floodgates to my internal wounds that left me restless and uncomfortable. I had no other choice than to face that discomfort and Janet's book served as a guide for me, in my quest for healing.With the amount of uncertainty and anxiety around us, it was so helpful to feel like I had a teacher to walk me through understanding myself on a totally different level. The writing prompts and personal stories Janet shares, really helped me zone in on my childhood traumas and how they continue to affect me as an adult. It was the perfect way to start my journey towards inner peace, especially now in the midst of chaos and I'm looking forward to continuing the work of showing up for myself. I would definitely recommend this book to EVERYONE! Thank you so much, Janet!

Awakening to your true self
This is a book which will definitely give you many "Aha" moments about why you react the way you do to external situations and to the people in your life. Also, becoming aware of when you are getting triggered by a situation or a person. This book is helping me learn how to understand who I truly am and how important it is to do inner healing before you can live a authentic and blissful life with courage. The author provides you with many strategies and techniques to help you tap into your inner knowing. There are thought provoking questions at the end of the chapters which are great journal prompts. It is a beautiful book which will transform you, teach you to love yourself and believe in the process of awakening to a higher consciousness.

A useful tool for every human being!
There was so much knowledge in each page, my favorite share was inside of Chapter 6: Feelings, Emotions, and Triggers. Janet's analogy of the grouchy character from one of my favorite shows during childhood was spot on and described the process of being triggered beautifully! I found so much value in what was written as it relates to my life experience. I would highly recommend Show Up For Yourself to all who are seeking the way to uncover the peace of their inner truth.

A Transformative Read
This book has served as a catalyst for some deep personal work and I have fully embraced “the spiral of healing”. The inner child healing I experienced has led to such positive change and has really empowered me with increased confidence and self trust. Showing Us The Way Back To Ourselves…
I deeply enjoyed the perspectives Janet Philbin brings in this book. Her explanation around feelings and emotions, from the inside out, was particularly helpful to me. Connecting the internal clues to the chakras allowed me to understand and appreciate my emotional wounds, rather than run from them. It gave me a language to use, to integrate these messages. Ultimately bringing together heart, mind and body, this book brings tools that have helped me reconnect with and empower myself. I feel a number of the tools offered are rarely made available, particularly those that are the author’s specialty, in the field of hypnosis. I am re-reading some passages over and again in order to absorb some of the techniques subtly seeded in these pages. There is a lot of wisdom here.

This is a must read especially during these unprecedented times we are living in right now. We have the time in our hands to start doing the inner work. Janet offers a great amount of journal prompts that will allow you to dig deep. I found them extremely helpful. I highly recommend this book to those who are ready to start the work. It is loaded with great tools to help with your healing & growth! A must read!!

This is an amazing book if you have some healing to do and want to do it in the comfort of your own home. Janet is very experienced in her field and will safely guide you to your own healing through inner work. This book is so comforting and keeps you feeling safe and supported. I highly recommend it.
