covers well
The media could not be loaded. After purchasing a home we wanted to give the outdated kitchen a update .We researched online for a few weeks on what would be the best and easiest type of product to use on dark oak cabinets that would cover well and leave little of the wood grain showing . After researching we found this product fit our needs the best . When it arrived there was no spillage of any paint in the box and was fastened with metal clips on the sides of the lid to keep it closed .When opening the product the fumes from the paint wasn't as bad as i thought it would be . to this product . It takes a lot of thin coats to make it look right and cover correctly .So this isn't a weekend job prepare to spend a week or more working on it . Dry time in between coats isn't that long if you don't apply it thick .Using several thins coats is the best option. Although hard work and a lot of time the after look is amazing . I also done a scratch test and it holds up rather well

Don’t Waste Your Money on this
I am an experienced cabinet and furniture maker and thought I would give this product a try. It covers very poorly. It takes at least 3-4 coats to cover previously sealed wood causing too thick of a build up. It runs way too much. Really poor and uneven appearance since it does not self level. If you follow directions using foam roller and brush......well let’s say the finish is not good with streaks and uneven coverage. Just a really poor product. This finish ruined the look of a perfectly good cabinet. There are too many other good interior cabinet finishes to even consider this product. Do not recommend it. Would have a hard time seeing an application I would use this coating on. Ended up disposing of the balance of the can. A genuine waste!

Perfect Cabinet Paint!
I'm in the middle of a mini-kitchen renovation. My first step was to paint the original 1965 solid birch cabinets white, and this paint got such great reviews that I decided to go for it. One quart - ONE QUART - has done almost my entire kitchen! Granted, it is a small space, but I've done 3 - 4 coats on 13 cabinet doors, plus drawer fronts. I plan on getting another quart for the shelves & for touch-ups. This paint is fabulous, and even looks good over tile (yes, tile). It has a satiny, smooth finish, not *quite* factory finish, but it's paint after all...I recommend 4 very thin coats to get an even & opaque finish, which sounds like a lot, but it dries quickly (and my cabinets are pretty dark). I lightly sanded only the high traffic areas (around nobs & most-used cabinets), but didn't bother sanding the whole thing. It looks awesome & is durable so far. Wish I had done this years ago!

Excellent product
Hubby and I re-did our kitchen cabinets with this product, and they turned out fabulous! We tried this product and a similar one from Dunn Edwards. This one seemed to flow a bit better than the DE brand. We painted our cabinet boxes by hand, and used a sprayer for the doors and drawer fronts (outside, under a tent, away from the house). The sprayer wasn't absolutely necessary, but it sped things along tremendously (we had 42 doors/drawer fronts in total). If you're doing the painting by hand, it will take several coats (3-4), but the end result is fabulous. It's been 3 full months since we completed the project, and the finish still looks brand new (as it should), and our cabinets wipe clean so easily. Preparation is key, of course: Clean and sand away enough of the previous finish so this new finish will stick, repair any nicks/cuts/chips, and caulk edges between panels that may be separating (you'll get bubbles in the gaps if you don't).

Best cabinet paint I have ever used
I just recently refinished some kitchen cabinets with this product. I have some 25 year old MDF cabinets which were originally finished white and had yellowed over the years. First I sanded them with 120 grit sand paper and applied the Insl-x paint. I can tell you the results are amazing. I had great coverage using a foam roller and I did not even need a second coat. The finish was smooth and as close to a factory spray on finish as you could have. The cabinets have a nice satin sheen and the finish seems rock hard and easy to clean. I will buy this product again. I also used this product with a brush to paint the frames of the cabinets and achieved the same results as the foam roller. The paint left no noticeable brush marks but I did need two coats to get good coverage.
