Great Capturing tool
It is not bad and easy to use. Of course, it is not converting 4K video, but should be good enough for the conversion of VHS or DV tape

Poor repro and poor sound sync
It does work with Win10 but poor result. When transferring old VHS the audio sync is well out and is not watchable. Tried different programmes as recommended, all to no avail. Used to have a much better made one from Aldi that finally broke after about 5 years. This was replacement. So disappointed and is now not used at all. So buyer. Dont bother. A very poor product.

If it doesn't work at first, don't give up
1. Run the little yellow CD installation disk. This has Windows 10 drivers2. Don't even try to use the bundled software3. Download the free and open-source OBS package4. In OBS, click on the plus sign in the "Sources" window and add "Video capture device" (new, not existing option)It should show up as "AV to USB 2.0". You can also see it in Windows Device Manager under "cameras".5. Press play on your camcorder/VCR/whatever and you will see the video previewing in OBS. Click on Start recording" to record it to your disk.,6. If the video is blank/not working: - try a different USB port - try turning the PC right off and unplugging the power, then plugging in the device to a new USB, then power back on again with the device plugged in from the start - try turning the whole PC right off and on again (not joking! this fixed it for me)At first it did not work for me, but after a lot of poking around and restarting, it is now working fine.

Not Great results but workable.
Delivery was excellent, arriving the very next day but the product didn't live up to expectation. Having read the meager paper instructions I installed the software to find a more detailed PDF instruction book attached. Following those instructions I captured great clear audio but even after stripping and cleaning my VCR heads, a clear video image could not be captured. So following the advice from a previous reviewer I uninstalled the software, plugged in the usb adapter and simply opened up the windows 10 camera app, changed the input camera to VHS 2 DVD and I was able to capture a clear mp4 video image, to edit on my normal editing software.

Device works well (with different software)
I've been through a few different types of these and this one works great. I don't think there's any difference between this and more expensive versions. I didn't use the software though because it seemed a bit crap (possibly why it's cheaper). If you don't already own software you can use OBS for free, really free - not just free for five minutes. It does takes a little more setting up than dedicated 'one click' software, but it's awesome! As these devices get warm, I recommend unplugging them when you aren't using them to prolong life, as I assume it's why they suddenly don't work.

Excellent cheap way to capture VHS footage using Windows 10
This review is based on using Windows 10. Used to capture many hours of old VHS footage, very simple to setup and use. Also required a SCART to RCA (red/white/yellow connectors) cable which isn't supplied.- Plug device into a spare USB slot (there is no need to install any drivers or additional software to use this converter)- Plug SCART to RCA cable into back of VHS player- Connect the red, white yellow cables to corresponding cables on the device- Open Windows Camera app- Press the change camera button on the Windows Camera app until it shows AV to USB2.0- Press play on your VHS player and record on the Windows Camera app and the files will be captured as MP4 filesVery happy and impressed. Suspect this will also work perfectly using OBS but didnt try it.

UTTER GARBAGE
It's been a while since I've come across a product this bad. I had a Kworld USB video capture dongle that I bought from Amazon in 2010 that suddenly stopped working (after 11 years, it's not unexpected I suppose) so I needed a relatively cheap replacement.Installing the included software was a pain because the mini-CD included with the app and drivers had read errors so took ages. When it finally installed, launching it after a reboot showed the video I was trying to capture from a mini-DV camcorder. For a start, the aspect ratio of the video was wrong so it was taller than it should have been...changing the resolution kind of sorted that out. Before I could capture any video and literally after a couple of minutes, the video preview juddered, changed colour and then disappeared. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it back. I'm an IT tech with 28yrs experience in desktop support and the list of things I can't fix on a PC is pretty small (software and hardware) but this is on that list. I repaired the software install which got the audio back but still no video. I tried everything I could think of but in the end, decided it wasn't worth the hassle...anything which takes this long to fix isn't going to be reliable going forward, so it's being returned. Also, the software installation installs an old version of Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can't opt out of, and is really unnecessary. Overall, this is cheap cr*p that you might expect to find being sold at your local market on a Saturday morning by a Delboy Trotter character from the back of a van or out of a suitcase.Do yourself a favour - especially if you have a lot of video to convert - avoid this like the plague.
