Excellent fit and adds a beautiful finishing touch
This product fit great on my 2006 Accord V6 6-speed. With the new knob I ordered, it fit well but left threads exposed, which is where this comes in. Installing it was easy. The thread fit is a little sloppy but it tightens up when all together. If you have an Accord, you do NOT need to cut the boot or break the factory retainer. Simply work off the rubber holder then work the boot itself free from the plastic retainer. It may stick a little bit, but it will come off and then you can reinstall it if you want to. After that, I folded the bolt to a good fit over this retainer and applied some zip ties as the rubber retainer is too small for this piece. The end result is beautiful with a great finish and I couldnโt be happier! As for the negative reviews, please make sure you order the right size for your car as there are other listings with different sizes available. I made sure my thread was 10x1.5 before I ordered this one but other cars may be different.

Exactly what I needed for 2021 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback with a countersunk knob
I swapped out the factory shift knob on my 2021 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback for a heavy, countersunk ball knob. The OEM shift boot collar is essentially a chrome plastic ring with slots that allows tabs from the OEM shift knob snap into it. This of course wasnโt going to work with my new knob and the boot simply slid down the stick, leaving a gap between the bottom of the knob and the collar. At first I wasnโt sure if this collar would be too long and look weird since the factory one was a simple ring and this is a lot taller than that. After driving my car for a few days with the new knob though I realized that the lower fingers on my hand tend to wrap around the stick below the knob, so this type of collar actually is perfect because it provides a place for your lower fingers to be instead of wrapping around the shift boot itself. It actually ends up being a very comfortable final setup with the curved collar leading up to the ball. Since this collar is threaded youโll probably need to screw it onto the stick first, before you attach it to the shift boot. Once you have it attached to the shift boot you wonโt be able to spin it around to get the threaded portion onto the stick. In my case I first unscrewed the shift knob, then removed some side trim pieces before popping off the trim panel that the shift boot is attached to. I then threaded the collar onto the stick and actually screwed it on until it got completely past the threaded area on the stick. Since I am using a countersunk shift knob there arenโt enough threads sticking out from below the knob for the collar to use as I want the knob to be as low as possible. Then once I had the collar able to move freely beneath the threaded section I positioned the trim panel and boot back over the stick with the boot pushed down below the trim panel (essentially inside out so you can see the inside of the boot sticking out from below the trim panel. Then I slipped the boot over the collar, making sure it was even on all sides and allow it to stick out past the collar just a little bit. Once you have it in that position you will want to secure it with a thin zip tie (not included). Pull the zip tie tight so it grips the shift boot material and slots into the groove around the edge of the collar, then snip off any excess. Flip the boot over and snap the trim piece back on and youโre all set. Perfect item at a great price for making your car look like itโs actually put together correctly once you swap out the shift knob. UPDATE: I decided that I wanted to raise my knob just a bit so I could have this collar up just high enough to grab the threads on the stick (so it didn't move). I was able to easily do this by simply loosening the knob and then screwing the collar on from below while holding the shift boot so the collar could rotate without spinning the boot itself. This allowed the collar to fit up higher inside the bottom of the shift knob and now everything is totally solid with a nice tight fit. So, you actually can rotate the collar once it's attached to the shift boot, you'll just want to hold the shift boot in place while you do it since it will try to pull the boot with it once you have the boot zip tied from underneath.

Bought gor 2021 Honda Civic
Bout this so I could install custom shift knob on my civic. Super easy to put on and a perfect fit. A lot of reviews say that the boot in my model civic need a small zip tie to keep it on the retainer but I've found that it stays on just fine without it as boot is tight enough around the Grove at the bottom. Looks good and feels good. Nice and snug and doesn't spin around.

Great for the price
Worked for my 2013 Honda fit and Skunk2 weighted knob. I wanted more space for my hand and the ergonomics of the collar compliment the skunk2 knob perfectly. I wish there was a way to tighten the collar to the knob other than just by hand for a more secure fit, but I canโt complain too much. Also make sure you have zip ties handy if you plan on picking one of these up! Youโll need one to secure the boot to the collar.

Item did not fit and was very bulky. On the S2000 the shifter gets very wide at the bottom so when you screw this on the shift boot has no space to move down and it wouldnโt fit. This did not work for my setup. Now I have to pay $6 for return shipping.

Fits perfectly
This cleaned up my aftermarket shift knob and now it looks great! Installation was painless, the hardest part was releasing the boot mount but once I got it off I cut the oem retainer off and pushed this one through, it fit snug and I didnโt have to cut the leather like I thought I was going to have to. I used an 8in zip tie (not included) to secure it, it screwed right on and and sits flush with my shift knob. Would definitely recommend if youโre trying to clean up your shifter!

FYI, does not fit a 2014 Mustang.
Even though it didn't fit my 2014 Mustang it seems like a good product. I'm sure one of my Honda friends could use it.

Easy install
2013 Honda Fit with Hybrid Racing shifter, Acuity Shift Knob. Zip tied the boot to the adapter, seems to keep the knob tight and looks so much better. Can't beat it for the price

Great fit and finish - threads need cleaning
An absolute necessity if you are changing shifter boot and knob. Threads needed to be cleaned up with a tap, but after that it fits perfectly and locked up against the knob.
