After trying some gel packs which looked like they would blow-up if heated too much decided to try this. This is much better. It heats much hotter without the worry of the gels. It has a pleasant smell. It is a nice size and has a slight moist feel which is very soothing to apply.

I love this heating pad. Made from quality materials and works great. It’s nice that it has a smooth side and an also a fuzzy side. I purchased one a few years ago and now bought the same for my mom. She loves it too!

I only used this pad for heat so I can't speak to how it performs as a cold pack. That being said, as a heating pad it works excellent. Heats up easily in the microwave and holds the heat for a decent amount of time. My only knock is that I would like to have this pad just a bit larger.

These provide heat and comfort and are very easy to use - just pop them in the microwave and then they'll provide soft heat for quite awhile.UPDATE: Be careful not to zap these in the microwave for too long, which of course is mentioned in the instructions. I gave this to a loved one as a gift, and one time she zapped it in the microwave as she had many many times before, but she's unsure of whether she pushed the right button. She now thinks she absentmindedly pressed a 30-MINUTE heating rather than 30 seconds, but there's no way to know for sure. It took awhile, but eventually this thing became too hot and caused a smoke problem throughout the kitchen. The microwave had to be thrown, and the smoke damage took some time to clean. So there is a danger of overheating, but in my mind this product didn't overheat through "normal" use - in fact, the damage might have been far worse if this product had not been carefully made with fire-retardent materials. Still, I have to relay this caution, and the gift recipient doesn't want to use this product anymore. I have one, and I will still continue to use it - but I remain MUCH MORE CAREFUL to only use the 30-second quick button on my microwave.

Very easy to use and I put in my backpack when I take it to work. It's very soft on the skin and isn't itchy nor scratchy. I found that 2 minutes is the right amount of heat for me (healing the calf muscle). It gives off a slight 'rice' smell, but definitely not a deal breaker. I find it soothing, if you like natural smells. So far it has lasted well, and I have given it quite a beating.

I’ve been using a heating pad for years. Which one they actually age out?I’m in need of one now and so glad I got this one. Not allot of scent (preferable). Heats up well and stays warm for a long time.Two sided - so I don’t need a thin towel when I use it.It’s really a great buyHave not used the cold option. But I imagine will work just as well

I guess this is what I bought, so I’m not sure how to rate it. It’s a soft cloth pouch filled with rice and flax seed. It’s got a bit of an off odor when you heat it, but otherwise it does what it’s supposed to. It’ll stay warm for a decent amount of time (20-30 minutes) and it’s comfortable. I didn’t realize it was rice-filled or I wouldn’t have purchased. If you read the entire description, the contents are listed at the bottom, so it was my mistake - I didn’t read far enough down. I use it in the home office and my wife commented that she thinks “it smells like one of the dogs peed in the office.” Not sure it quite smells that bad, but there’s a distinctive odor and it lingers in the office after I’m done with this. I’ll just stick to the plug-in pad and this one gets thrown into deep storage...

I has bad engorgement in my armpits (apparently that’s a thing) and this heating pad was a life saver!

This heating pad is great for my fibro pain and discomforts especially at night time. I just wish I got the unscented as mine had lavender and after its been heated it absolutely stinks and isn't nice.

Product is filled with natural materials which heat up well in microwave. It helped my mother with a strained shoulder and held heat for a good amount of time. Simple product which is effective and easy to use.

After looking at lots of alternatives (to replace my smelly, old microwavable wheat-bags) I decided to go for this rice-filled version.
