Not sure why they are so expensive
MIPS is nothing but clear plastic sheet on the inside of the helmet, with holes that match the ventilation openings. It is probably a negligible line item for production cost calculations. Aside from that, it is a bike helmet like any other $30 helmet that I own and have owned. Except for the design - the black-white contrast of the ventilation slots are sleek. I would not buy this helmet again, though, because it seems silly to spend 3-5 times what others cost and it pains me that I fell for the "coolness" factor.

If you are looking for a helmet that fits better for an oval head maybe try Propero III by ...
I found that this helmet has a lot of space on the side. It is probably designed for a round head, it just didn't feel me that well. If you are looking for a helmet that fits better for an oval head maybe try Propero III by Specialized.

Awesome helmet!
Awesome helmet !!! I love Giro products this is my 5th helmet Giro helmet I have owned.Only reason I gave 4 stars is that the red color doesn’t quite match the bright red in the picture which is not the seller fault as it’s the picture Giro has on their website

... Roc Loc 5 retention system is about as a good as it gets
The Roc Loc 5 retention system is about as a good as it gets. Helmet is comfortable and can really strap your skull in close and tight. Tried with a cap too, and it opened up nicely and also cinched tight with that extra layer. I have a large head (7 1/2 fitted cap) and got a large. My only criticism (and this could be due to the size i needed) is this is a BIG helmet and heavy(ier) with a wide profile. If you’re looking for more aerodynamic the Giro Synthe might be a better bet for you.On that same note, with it being such a big helmet plus combined with the MIPS system, it definitely feeds the extra confidence when I’m on my bike that my dome is nestled in tight and well protected Venelation is great. Helmet has nice aesthetic design as well. So far so good - comfort and good venelation. Would get a 5 Star if helmet had a slight slimmer profile.

Looks Good, Feels Good, Light Weight
Looks good, feels good, it's light weight but still with latest technology. I have a large head and have struggled with some other helmet manufacturers and their large sizes. This one fits me like a glove...a very big glove :-)

Fits great, looks good, vents the Florida heat well
This helmet looks good, fits great, and vented the hot Florida heat well on today's ride. Right out of the box I could tell when I put it on, that it fit great. I read a few reviews that said it didn't vent well. I live in central Florida on the Gulf Coast and I know hot all too well. Used it on a fast 45 mile bike ride this morning and I think this helmet vents as well or better than my Giro Monza or my LG Diamond Pro. It is a lot more comfortable on my head than the other two as well. For what its worth I would definitely recommend this helmet.

Pretty good helmet and safety, but looks really wide on your head
I'm shocked by the average price of helmets now. For those who ride ~80 miles/week or more, comfort is really important. This has that...but is also much wider on my head than my previous cheap-o helmet I've had for five or so years. Ventilation is great, partially due to the height and width of the shell, haha. But find it on sale (color way I chose was $50 less than the others) and it's a good grab.

Excellent helmet, miserable pads
I love the helmet. Excellent comfort and shape. I barely feel it’s on.But the pads are horrible, especially the forehead piece. I wore it for 600 miles, kept it inside the house between rides (never left in a hot car), hand-washed/air dried the pads every 100 miles and the front piece tore miserably (see photo). Now I can’t find a replacement pad below $20.

Pricey, but a great helmet. Worth the money.
Like all other Giro helmets I've had, this is outstanding. Light, fits well and is adjustable. The only minor issue is the small Giro label on both sides of the helmet is tape and comes off very easily.

Fantastic Helmet
Love the helmet. It is like wearing a slipper. Lightweight, comfortable, lots of airflow.
