Looks nice, but top does not come off, causing cleaning, decoration, and ventilation difficulty
Did not look too carefully into it and missed an important part that made my setup very difficult to work with.Pros:LightweightFramelessBlack background can hide equipment/hoses on the other sideCons:Acrylic so more easily scratched (expected this one)Top does not come off completely-Top access has consists of two larger rectangular holes, a thinner hole along the back for equipment, and a small hole on the left side for filter intake or something similar. Holes are NOT large enough for tank backgrounds, floor mats, large decorations, etc...-Makes cleaning difficult-Poor ventilation causes foggy sides if tank is not filled all the way (Mine is half full for a frog)-No holes on right side for filter outlet, must be mounted closer to center

I did not receive the aquarium I ordered.
I ordered the cobalt blue and received clear and I had to use because I was switching out aquariums and my fish were in holding container. Very disappointed since my aquarium in wall and needed background. The aquarium itself seems to be good quality.

OK Tank- GARBAGE Light & Hood
2 Stars because it holds water- Read on- The tank itself is well made but access through the top is limited to 2 openings that make it tough to maintain. Because of the precut holes you're limited in your choice of filter and accessories that will fit without drilling and weakening the top. The precuts were not thought out very well by the designer and are useless or poorly located.. There are 2 (two) 5mm holes for Airlines (one on each rear corner), 1 (one) 2 x 2 1/2" oddly shaped Heater hole on the left rear and a 2x15" slot centered on the rear for a HOB filter. Note!!!! : The heater and filter hole (slot) is offset by a 3/4" ledge. Due to this, some smaller HOB heaters & filters either won't fit or they'll fit improperly. Luckily I'm using an AquaClear/Fluval 110 that just makes it. If the opening was any smaller the rippling of the water cascading in could wash over the top and potentially cause flooding. I don't like having an aquarium where use of and placement of peripherals are predicated upon (in my case) useless holesThe acrylic seems to be holding up well over the last 9 months and I haven't noticed any warping or bowingcontrary to other reviews. The acrylic doesn't scratch easily if it is cleaned 'Properly''. I simply wipe it gently with a dampened microfiber shop rag.Now let's get to 'The Worst Light Fixture Ever Made'. Hopefully from the photos you'll see what a nightmare this is. I'd give this fixture a negative 10 if I could! Cheap plastic that warps from day 1. The design of the 'Florescent' light causes the light to bend and travel through the acrylic on the tank top to blind you when you look at the tank. It may blind you but the light going into the tank is insufficient at best. Because of the design of the tank openings you're stuck using this monstrosity if you don't want your fish to jump out. There are no commercially available secondary market hoods that will fit. There is no 'handle or grip' to lift the hood so you have to lift it something to pry or leverage it until you can lift it with your fingers. How are you expected to lift the hood to feed your fish when there's no handle? I ended up installing a 'handle' (see photo) and bought a 24" Hygger LED light and fitted them into the hood. This pretty much took care of the hood & lighting problem..Sort Of.. but there is no reason this manufacturer should use junk on a $350 aquarium just to save a dollar. Even those cheap $100 40's have decent LED lighting compared to this. It took a lot of unnecessary work to bring this tank up to speed. If there was a way to return it easily I would have but little did I know of the pitfalls until I put the gravel and water in it. Do your homework and 'Look Before You Leap' when buying a new aquarium.

Very nice quality hexagon aquarium
I bought this aquarium because I'm getting very low on fish and I decided to downgrade from a 4 foot tank to a 3 foot tank. I have been buying acrylic tanks for several years now and I'll NEVER go back to glass. However I've only bought clear for life brand until now. I read all the bad reviews and was turned off, however I know there will always be bad reviews for any item. I had rewards points and a gift card so for $117 I figured it was worth giving SeaClear a try. Upon receiving it and opening the box I was worried because there wasn't a lot of packing material, however after inspecting the tank it was perfect. After disinfecting it and filling it up outside to test for leaks I brought it inside and started setting it up. After setting it up I was really happy with how it turned out. My fish adjusted very well to the tank change as I used my existing filter and media. I must say I've always had rectangular aquariums however I'm really loving the hexagon shape. One problem I've had with my tons of clear for life acrylic aquariums is that the back bracing bows up really bad, even on tanks I never had light fixtures on. I'm really hoping that this one doesn't bow up as bad. Everyone complains about the black plastic hood that comes with this tank, however I love the look of it. Also everyone complains that you cannot find a bulb for the fixture it comes with but the problem is that people only look at pet stores. My dad is a vending mechanic so he's very knowledgeable about different light fixtures and bulbs and he said they make led lighting to fit this fixture. However I love the customizable led fixtures with controls so I purchased one on Amazon. I had him remove the fixture in the hood and I'm going to use heavy duty velcro to velcro the top of the light fixture to the top inside of the hood. So far I'm loving this tank and no bowing yet. I'll post an update after a while. I highly recommend this aquarium.

Great tank
Was wary about ordering a tank in the mail but it was packaged very well on all corners with styrofoam and came in mint condition, no scratches. This is a great tank the front edges are rounded and viewing inside is better than glass. As everyone says, the light isn't that great so I added a long led one on top. Dimensions of the tank are 36"L x 15"W x 16"T. I was nervous about the cutouts on top of the 40 gal not being big enough to put my tree inside, but they both measure 13 1/8" x 7 1/4" side by side so there was plenty of room. There is also a 15" x 2 3/8" slot on the top rear for your filter. Fits my eheim 2215 just fine and would accommodate a HOB. There is also a 1 5/8" diameter (on smallest dimension, not totally round) hole for your heater cord to go through on top left rear, and would accommodate smaller heaters to fit the top through the hole. Tank empty is only about 20 pounds so very easy to move around. Overall I think it's a great tank for a good price and am happy I bought my first acrylic tank.( My tank is still cycling and being scaped so sorry about algae and messy small plants in picture.)

Warped at the top after a few months.
UPDATED: April 2019While the sides remain solid, the top panel is warped upwards after only a few months. I have only a lightweight light fixture resting on top and the overturned polycarbonate lid to cover the largest whole (everything is less than a pound altogether). This is ridiculous!I remember reading another review about this happening and thinking naaw, maybe it was just a one-off. But nope, I should have listened. The viewing remains gorgeous and clear, but overall I'm pretty disappointed that this tank has WARPED at the top. It's now going to be even harder to find fixtures and tops for this thing if it's curved on top!! At least it's warped at the back half so it's less visible, but how's this going to look a year from now?I would highly recommend getting something else instead.
