Very Useful For Teaching Spelling
I'm using this set to teach my 6 year old common word patterns and spelling differences of similar sounding words. After using the first set I purchased.. I bought another.

Order with blue magnetic pad
Just to be clear, this DOES NOT come with the blue magnetic board. You CANNOT play without it. I missed that in the description and had to order it separately. It was my fault. I just didn’t want anyone else to make the same mistake.

all fluff, no educational quality
Update: Now that my kid is in kindergarten, and we have returned to this every few months or so for years, I can honestly say this is NOT a good leaning tool. There are several free and paid learning programs (Khan Academy kids, Lexia Core 5) that are far superior. There are two main issues: (1) there are little to no instructions given, no “repeat the instructions” or “help I need a hint” buttons, and the games are often not intuitive to young learners; and (2) the games are more like busywork than learning. For example, in a pre-k phonics game, they give the the word “eel”. When you put in the first letter, it says “E. eh eh… eel”. Hilariously bad because they’re giving the wrong sound for that word. While the graphics are pretty and the tactile use of physical letters is appealing, the actual games are lacking in substance. I can’t believe they charge so much this.Original review:I was hoping this would be a learn-to-read tool, but it’s really just for spelling practice. All of the games start abruptly with very few instructions, so your child needs to be old enough to figure out what to do without instructions, even on the Pre-K setting. The tablet camera is used to identify the letters, which is a little glitchy, so it will say “K” when the letter is placed in, then get confused and think the K is gone, then see it again and say K again, which can really confuse the child whose trying to find the next letter. And occasionally it will be so confused it says the wrong letter. This would probably be a great tool for a kid who can read and is practicing their spelling, but I don’t think it should even have a Pre-K setting, as it’s not really age-appropriate for Pre-K even on that setting.

Great engagement but content challenges
Love the concept of this & have used a couple of times. The problem we’ve had with it is the content: child is going into kindergarten and the spelling tasks are wayyyy to easy so they get bored… so we tried the first grade content and it’s significantly advanced compared to the prior level which lead to child getting frustrated. Will put it in the closet for a few months and try again.

Nice buy to learn words.
The product is very good. Kids love it. Fun way of learning words. But there is no option to select the grade. Small and big words are mixed
